Hey Paladin, who do you think would be a good replacement? I know on the other boards there is someone posting that the OC I think he is from Michigan State. I again don't know why a D1 Cord would take a head coaching position at a IAA school.

I wonder how Girard High School Off Coordinator Nick Cochran would do...I know that would be a big jump, but the guy can coach. Obviously there is more to it than that. Maybe YSU would wait to see who gets fired from the big programs and see if someone is interested?

Should have been done years ago. I fear now that the damage has been done to this once great program.

IMO Nick Cochran would need to become an assistant coach in the college ranks before becoming a Head Coach.
However, I agree he is a very good high school coach.

The OC at Mich. St. would have to take a big paycut. Don't see him coming as he could go to a bigger & better paying college than YSU. I don't favor taking a risk on an unproven. One coach in the area that might do is former Pitt HC and OSU OC Walt Harris , now OC at Akron. YSU would fit his profile of an affordable HC. Otherwise, open it up and take apps Nationally.

Sometimes you get a coordinator taking a head coaching job at a smaller division to prove that they can build a program and win as a head coach.

Well I hope today is the day that I hear the words "I'm resigning from the YSU football head coaching job"

Nice last second win by the Penguins today, however don't let that cloud you from what you HAVE to do Strollo. News of a coaching opening needs to be the headlines of the Vindy tomorrow or Monday.

Meanwhile, news of this type is not good. 4 football players involved in an alleged assault.

Please. Davie makes to much money in TV and has been out of the game too long. YSU will do better than him.

However, making a political hack hire like Davie would just about make YSU a complete laughing stock. The parochial view in Ytown has always come back to bite them in the butt. Heres an idea -- there are other better coaches that are NOT from Ytown or have YSU connections. Heresy, I know, but smarter choices than the incompetents would dredge up in a "good old Valley boy". How many times do you have to get burned ??

Mangino is about to get fired at Kansas. How much you wanna bet they offer him cuz he won't get another D1A offer anytime soon.

Good. May this be the return to national prominence for YSU.
