Was coming home from work a few minutes ago and heard this gem being replayed on 97.1
He says Sam Bradford is a once in every 10-15 year type player, and he said the Browns should give up a 1st, 2 2nd's and a 3rd to get him.
He has always had a boner for Bradford, but this blows me away.

Disagree about him being that good, but I do think he's far and away the best QB in the draft. I don't think the Browns should give up anything to get him though.

I'd agree with him being the best in this draft, but honestly, I'm not really feeling any of the QB's that much to give away ANYTHING close to what he suggested..

Here's the flaw in Spielman's theory. If a team adheres to the value chart, the Browns would have to give up ALL 12 draft picks AND a pick NEXT year to equal the value of the Rams 1st rounder just to move up.
The Rams saw Bradford's Pro Day. If they trade out of that spot, they are going to make their trading partner grab their ankles and they won't be bought a dinner before or given a kiss after.

The so called "experts" are saying this is the deepest draft in years. Too many holes on the Browns to make a trade invoving all their picks. We have a great chance of getting better sooner than later by using most of these picks. I believe they will trade to move up in the late first round or early second. That I could understand and would probally do it. I want Thomas but he may have moved up too high after is pro-day. If we get Berry and Thomas that sets the d-backfield for quite awhile.

Peyton Manning has a lot of empty fingers to fill in case anyone has noticed. You don't need a God like QB to win a SB. Bradfords price is too high for a team with so many needs.

Oh, I agree. As far as Spielman, I've never really liked him on the radio. He doesn't always come off as intelligent, but I do like his passion (I think he was the main guy talking up Pryor for the Heisman after the spring game last year).
As for Bradford, I don't know if he's that good or not. But he seems to really be impressing in his workouts and might be one of those great QB's. If the Browns or anyone else feels that strongly about him, I'd have no problem with them giving up a bunch of picks to get him.
You win in the NFL starting with the QB position. The Browns need someone, and if they can get a great franchise QB this year, you do whatever it takes.

Not all the time, obviously.
I don't see in Bradford what he does -- but it doesn't matter. It would be TOTALLY STUPID for the Browns to give away an entire draft in the HOPES of finding their franchise QB.
Because at this point, it IS only hope.
I'd rather keep my picks and if I don't use them to acquire known talent like they just did with Philly, then give yourself lots of options on draft day to move up or down -- or stay put and take bodies and hope you hit the jackpot.

Didnt he a few years ago say he should be the BUcks coach before they hired tressel even tho he hadnty any coaching experience?
No matter how good football player you are it would be tuff to walk into a top 10 program with no coaching background whatsoever

I don't agree with Chris on this one, but then again, if someone had said the same thing about Tom Brady when he was being drafted, I believe most would have asked if that person was on crack also.

Keep the picks and pick up a QB later in the draft that can run a team and not be a projected superstar. This team has such a deep hole to dig out of, and the draft picks they have will be a good start.

I'm still warming up even more to Colt McCoy. Dude has the most wins as a starting QB. I just get this strange feeling with all of the attention off of Jimmy Clausen that he could be the pick.

Im thinking either McCoy or Tony Pike.
Although if Bradford does not go #1, it wouldnt stun me at all to see them move up to 2nd and take him.
