I would like to have my gif avatar back.

overall the new build is pretty dope, especially since its largely from scratch. just curious what, if any cost savings making this switch provided for you.

The new software is a little more efficient, so it's on a smaller server, but that's not much of a difference. The main reason for the update was improving my development skills with a framework that I've poked around in for a few years but never really built anything substantial with, and to allow for easier updates going forward. I hadn't made a security update to the old site in years as it was a giant pain in the ass. This new software is more secure. I'm more likely to put in the time and effort to keep this place going now that I actually enjoy working on it and making updates.

Minor

- Option + click to open a thread into a new tab and you don't leave your current page.

- Open links in a new window

Anything on these?  The second one keeps users on your site and not lost in the shuffle.

Yeah, I was playing around with that last night but the way that posts are loaded on the page it wasn't as easy as it should be. I'll keep at it, I'm sure I can figure something out soon enough. The first one is lower priority, but I'll throw a few minutes at it and hopefully figure it out quickly. I'll keep you posted on progress.

Actually, I think I know why option + click isn't working. I might be able to have that fixed in the next few days. The current functionality is that you can basically click anywhere on the thread list item (not just the title) and that is screwing with the default behavior. The update, I think, would require me to remove that functionality and you would have to click on the link (or buttons) to open the thread. Not really a big deal, IMO, so I am fine changing that behavior.

It's almost black, and a tad darker than the font on the old site. So...

It was pretty small and not always easy...had to slightly adjust lighting on my phone. Now I don’t....so good enough for me

Made a few updates to the rep system. I still need to add the ability to add a comment to a rep (optional), but I did add the requirement to add a comment before you can neg. You won't be able to see the comments yet, but I'll build out an interface for viewing comments soon (likely accessible from the Admin Actions button on all of your posts). And leave a legitimate reason for negging the post, it shouldn't be used for negging someone just because you don't like them. If I see that folks are mashing their keyboards or leaving ad hominem attacks as comments I reserve the right to disable their ability to use the neg feature.

You now have the option of typing a comment before leaving a rep. You can either click the Leave Comment button or hit enter to leave a rep without a comment. Also, you can't rep yourself, because that's pretty lame.

This should work now. If the option key doesn't work, try the windows key (or command key on mac). If that doesn't do what you want let me know. One note, you have to click on the actual thread title link, not just the area surrounding it that is clickable.

This should work now as well, at least for any external link. If it's a link to another thread it will load in the same window.

It was the command key.  Not sure why I said "option."  Probably because I'm retarded.

Adding the functionality to open links in new tabs has introduced a new bug to the post editor. If you try to use any of the buttons on the editor it will open a new blank tab. The actual function will work, it's just annoying that a new tab opens. I will fix this tonight.
