i open myself up for some crow eating, but Sheduer Sanders sucks and will do nothing of note in the NFL.

$59k for a roof?!

my thoughts exactly. 1 quote was for 76k, another was for 34 but i feel like that low bid was a little suspicious based on the fellow that was sent out for the bid.

Under 9.5 is +120. Over is -148. Bettors seem to like Kirk Cousins.

Cousins win percentage with minnesota is only 57% with a top 15 defense every year and diggs or jefferson every year. Falcon's defense isn't going to be top 15 and no one on that offense is as good as either of those receivers. their schedule looks tough also so i feel like 10 wins is out of reach. HOWEVER, the panthers and saints being 4 games on their schedule is  a little tough to bet against

Put a large sum ($5) on the Jets winning the Super Bowl. What I found odd was the Falcons had lower odds than the Jets did. Am I missing something there? Falcons were +2400, Jets +2700.

seems like a good bet might be the falcons total win under in that case. their defense is not good and the O-line sucks so it'll be interesting to see how kirko chains does there.

it's amazing how widely varied roofing costs are. i put a new roof on my house in pittsburgh - $14k. Put a new roof on my mom's house in Marietta - $7600, my roof here in OKC was $59,000. Granted I have impact shingles on this house rated for 4" hail and 130mph winds so that was part of it but damn was it pricey.

Original issue was that it needed capped and maybe some light mortar work. Once he got up there he realized someone had applied tar (?) to the top of the chimney for some reason.

It wound up being a relatively inexpensive repair for the amount of work/hours he put into it ($750)

I moved in around October 1st. It's been a money pit since I moved in. I've:

* Painted a room

* Removed carpet/pad from said room

* Had new hot water heater installed

* Had sump pump system replaced

* Stained the deck

* Had Chimney work done

* Had inducer replaced on furnace

* Various break/fix tasks around the house

I've finally reached the point where I can let off the gas and live in the place for a bit. I have new carpet going in a few weeks and then I'll relax.

Things that still need addressed:

* The garage doesn't have gutters/downspouts. Might be a lost cause at this point as the concrete slab is fucked from what appears to be a tree that grew too close.

* The garage door opener sounds rough, but functional.

* Fencing and deck in the backyard is not in great shape but still useful.

* The screen door is missing from the front of the house. The door and hardware are in the garage I just need to drag it out and figure out how to put it on.

* Driveway needs resurfaced/repaved.

And then today my neighbor pointed out a dead tree out by the street that probably needs to go.

I'm tempted to just burn the place down and move.

what specifically was your issue in the chimney? that seems like something that even a simple fix is expensive and tough.

Man 41-59 is a huge range

Golf is damage control. It devours the aggressive mentality. Pros can get away with it.

* Be great at putting inside of 4 feet….and on long putts, you have a huge 8 foot circle to get it within. Try not to miss approach shots or even chips where things will be tougher the next shot.

If shooting the occasional 41-43….the high end should resemble 49-52

When I was growing up and beginning to get good I played every hole as a Par 5…every hole.

When shots are going astray…shorten things up.

same thing happened yesterday. 6 pars and shot a 103, on holes where i'm not good, i'm god awful. i'm also a mental case and one bad shot puts horrible swing thoughts through my head for the next few minutes. i'm going to start walking up to shots that i've hit poorly instead of driving the cart to give myself time to clear my head of the bullshit.

Howie Schwab 53

Stump the Schwab

I would've guessed that guy was 53 back in 2005 when that show was on.

Hot water heater might be worth replacing too given the hard water problems.

i've got money budgeted for a tankless but haven't pulled the trigger. the old owners replaced this one in 2015 with a 98 gallon heater and i've flushed it since we moved in and didn't see anything super concerning. i was also thinking of just going back with a tank heater since that heat source in my water closet probably keeps things from freezing up in these deep freeze events we get from time to time here in OKC. at least this last one we got in january i swear it helped.

how about what nelly is doing on the LPGA side. it's just as compelling to watch as the stuff scheffler is doing

my last 4 9's (i only play 18 hole rounds but i want to show what i'm capable of, and what i normally do at the end of the card) - these are all on the same course in OKC where i'm a member

42, 54 - 96

59 - 41 - 100

i have only broken 90 on this course 1 time in like 75 rounds, i just cannot put 2 9's together. My main issue that i've noticed recently is, i can either putt okay, or chip okay during a round, i can never do both well.

i mentioned on the travel thread that i got some incredible courses coming up:

Bluejack National 4/24

Whispering Pines 4/25

Ross Bridge 5/7

Oxmoor Valley 5/8

Crescent Pointe7/1

Trying to get on at Harbor Town that week of 7/4 but haven't confirmed that. Will for sure try to get into that pro shop.

it's been a non-stop project on this house we bought last june. Hopefully we are wrapping it up with this last bit of landscaping work we are doing next week (adding a sidewalk from the driveway to the back patio through the fence). I think we'll have to replace the washing machine that was here when we moved in, and the dishwasher because everything else the hard water touched in this house has been ruined, but aside from those things (we're waiting for them to fail to discuss replacing) i think we're done working on stuff.

Since moving in on 6/23/23 we have done the following:

new roof, gutters, downspouts, french drains.

Replace 1 furnace

Replace 1 blower motor on the other AC/Furnace

Removed return air filters and install media filters on both AC/Furnaces

Re-place all faucets in the house (hard water had ruined them) and 2 shower/tub faucets

Install water softener

Replace 3/5 toilets (again, ruined by hard water)

Replace fridge (hard water messed up the water lines and it leaked, causing an issue with the compressor)

Replace all landscape lights and cameras for security

Re-sod entire backyard with Fescue remove 5 cedar stumps in front yard, remove 5 oak trees and stumps in the back yard

Re-plant  4 of the 5 flower beds.

Replace mulch on all flower beds.

Upgraded sprinkler controller and added 1 zone for flowerbeds in the back

Replaced/repaired 2/3 of the sprinkler heads

Aerate and level entire yard (front is bermuda, back is fescue)

Plan 2 oak trees in backyard

My 50th is in July

Wife is taking me and my son to Cubs game, day in Chicago after that…then on to Kansas City for a game and then a day and then to St Louis for a game and then another day.

We are going to do 5 days in Virginia Beach in June.

Had my trip to the Masters last week.

Cozumel in October

Wife and daughter are going to Vancouver in December for a Taylor Swift concert.

We're trying to figure out a vacation for June. We currently have a (refundable) reservation in Siesta Key, FL. Has anyone been? Is it worth going?

Anyone else have any planned vacations already?

My brother loves it in Siesta Key, has been several times. It looks awesome but i've never been. For whatever it's worth, he goes with his grandkids and kids, so seems to be pretty family friendly.

As for trips for me., I'm going on a work trip that includes a few RTJ golf courses in May, headed on another work trip to Houston next week where I'm hitting Bluejack National and Whispering Pines. Then for a family vacation, we are hitting up Hilton Head for a week in late June, trying to set up some golf for that week, but haven't confirmed anything yet. if all goes well the wife and i might try to break away for a couples trip over new years. nothing firmed up there yet.

Award shows. The Grammys, Emmys, Oscars... It's rich and famous people giving other rich and famous people awards. Who gives a shit. I don't know why people eat that trash up every year but it always happens.

Also reality TV.

Adults cheering and screaming wildly - at campaign rallies - are idiots.  It's tailgating for politards.  And yet it's somehow foundational to getting elected.

I have never been to a campaign rally, but maybe one day I'll take one in just to observe the spectacle.  I just don't know if I want to be surrounded by thousands of those people.

i think houston is leary of diggs. i see this morning where they are letting him test free agency after next year. so if he's the same sideline headcase that he was in buffalo (and minnesota for that matter) i would imagine he's a cowboy after this upcoming season.
