Love the course. It’s a great layout. But I won’t go back anytime soon. It was an absolute dog track.

For a while I was a local legend at Cook's Creek.  Not because of what I shot but because I got shot!  A group of work buddies were playing on a July 4th weekend, I think in 1999 or 2000 and as we approached the first green we kept hearing a popping sound but didn't pay much attention to it.  I had just teed off on the 2nd and was walking to my cart when i heard a pop and then an immediate pain in my left shoulder.  Come to find out a family (mom, dad, 6-yo child) were target shooting from across the creek at a tree by the 2nd tee box and I took one in the shoulder.  My friends went beserk on them and mom and dad both immediately blamed it on the kid.  The ranger heard the commotion and came to see what was going on. Fortunately they were firing a pellet gun and it didn't break the skin but raised a heck of a welp.  We continued playing and then about 30 minutes later here comes a deputy sheriff in a golf cart out to get a statement from me and my friends.  I told them I wouldn't press charges if he would go talk to them and he ssured me he would be talking to them!

Fast forward about 7 years and I go back out there and mention I had gotten shot and they all remembered the incident and gave me a discount on my fees!

They are moving to get rid of public schools by channeling more money to private schools and for profit schools. Most of the largest public schools are in democratic cities. They also aim to remove protections for special education students. Cutting funding for before and after school programs. Ect..

https://www.google.com/amp/s/abcnews.go.com/amp/Politics/trump-administration-proposes-71-billion-funding-decrease-education/story%3fid=61609098

They're not trying to get rid of public schools they are just looking to defund them and move the money to other more appropriate places where it will do more good especially since the school systems won't reform themselves.

I mean as a society. Rich people wasting their money for bullshit jobs when they could be helping people is obscene. He doesn’t get to decide if his garbage ass run was worth it or not. But instead, us normal people should pay for poors instead of fucks like him. Fuck that. I’d say same as Trump, but he decided on tax cuts instead, vs Biden saying f you your taxes are going up

Who knew Bernie was on Ohio Chatter!

Wut?  The transcript was released.  There is no word for word.  Calls weren't recorded.  2 people listen in and transcribe in real time.  If issue arises  the notes are compared.  This procedure was stated by the media yesterday.

As for Clinton....he was impeached for lying to Congress.  Clinton didnt break the law.

I guess I always thought when someone lied under oath to a grand jury that was considered breaking the law.

Federal District Judge Susan Webber Wright wrote:

Simply put, the president's deposition testimony regarding whether he had ever been alone with Ms. (Monica) Lewinsky was intentionally false, and his statements regarding whether he had ever engaged in sexual relations with Ms. Lewinsky likewise were intentionally false ...

From this Clinton was fined $90,000 and given a 5-year ban on practicing law when he later plea-bargained to a $25,000 fine.

I think he did break the law.

Your meme is bullshit.  Show a legitimate photo of a group waving the Chinese flag in Portland - i.e. one that doesn't look like a cheap Iron Maiden album cover.  If I'm wrong, I'll admit it.

My wife and I had a golf "stacation" this past week.  Played 18 at Darby Creek on Friday and then 18 at Raymond Memorial on Saturday.  Went to Springfield on Monday and played 27 at Windy Knolls (nice course that's not too long) on Monday.  On Tuesday we played 18 at The Virtues (Longeberger) followed by 9 at the Denison Golf Club.  The Virtues was really slow and long!  The fairways were so wet I kept backing up my driver in the fairways.  Makes a long course even longer.  We finished the week on Wednesday by playing 18 at OSU Scarlet followed by 18 at Mentel Memorial in Grove City.  Here's a tip; unless you are really good don't play a championship caliber course the day after a U.S. Amateur sectional qualifier.  The Scarlet course was set up as hard as it could be.  The greens were lightning fast, the rough really long and thick and every pin placement was on some hump tucked behind a bunker!

Overall it was a good week but I certainly learned my place in the golf world.  Playing the long nice courses is fun but I'm just not going to score well on them!

I haven't followed this all that closely, but 4 Americans have died recently in the Dominican Republic.  Still waiting for toxicology results, but sure seems to me like they were all poisoned.

Went there with two kidneys, came back with one!  I won't be going back!

My son is considering working as a conductor for Norfolk and Southern. However, he has been reading some pretty bad reviews posted by employees.  Anybody know somebody who works for the railroad? If so, what do they have to say about their job?

I hope he's prepared to work all the livelong day!

Tom created thread "Any Good Documenteries to Recommend?" at 07:51 am

My wife and I have been watching a few Netflix documentaries lately and are looking for recommendations for more.  We've recently watched the documentaries on Ted Bundy and Sister Cathy Cesnik (The Keeper). The Keeper absolutely made my blood boil due to1) her murder never being solved, 2) the amount of abuse that was tolerated in the church/school and 3) the incompetence or payoff of the Baltimore PD.

So, any recommendations?

Tom replied to "What was the last movie you watched?" at 07:45 am

Saw the Elton John movie Rocketman last night.  I believe a lot of people won't like it but I thought it was very well done.  Assuming most of it is true (Elton was the Executive Producer of the film) it certainly gives a lot of insight into who he is.  A lot of parallels with Bohemian Rhapsody.

7.5/10

Justin, I watched it last night and couldn't believe what I was seeing.  That church-lady jurist was just crazy and how she could ever be allowed to serve on a jury is beyond me.  I think the big-city attorney thought he was going to waltz in there and get an easy win only to find out the local yokels are a lot more concerned about one's perceived character flaws that they are the facts of a case.

Lol honestly I rarely pay for balls there. May have to look into that but people leave tons all the time in those massive buckets. Love using the putting green as they have such nice quick greens too

I like that you can play 18 holes for just the $20 cart fee.
