So I was at the District tournament, and overheard some people talking about a "Andrei Ivanov". I heard them saying he is a 8 time Russian Youth wrestling Champion and is now 17 years old. His father is getting a job at OSU and I heard they bought a house in Columbus, but I am not sure what school he will attend. The people said they heard he was amazing, and hasn't lost in 8 years, and will pry be around 125-152 next year. I don't know the validity of this, but if he comes. I would love to see him wrestle and see if he is the real deal.

It would be classic, if he's up on the podium and you guys knew who he was cause of this post haha :D
I heard he is quick as a viper , strong as a bull, and just cannot be stopped when he has a 2 on 1, and he is a phenom.

Does that mean this whole thread is a hoax? Or just that they picked a random picture of a Russian to represent this kid.

I just put a random picture.
I'm not sure how he looks, what his style is, I just heard wind of him.
I hope it's real, it'd be a real treat.

I don't think that is his picture, he looked different in person, but this kid is legit. I have spoken to both Miron and Sergei and you can expect to hear more and more about this kid in the future. As much as every coach around would love to have him, he still takes a spot from a homegrown kid if you have a lot of starters returning. To be frank, I have mixed opinions in regards to the whole situation. I think he will end up where the workout partners are. He is every bit of 63 kg...

Thank you bravesman.
This is a legit post, You and I will be watching him in the Schott next year, just playing with wrestlers like rag dolls, while the others deny his existence.
We cannot even begin to fathom his skills. A young boy raised in the town of Alexandrovsk-Sakhalinsky, he grew up wrestling and moving cargo in the harbour(Which the town's economy depends on), his strength is incredible I heard.

here is the town, small town in eastern russia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aleksandrovsk-Sakhalinsky

Godbless, and good luck to those at states!

SantaCarla, I'll be happy to delete that post when he is a state champ. But I think you lost a lot of credibility by posting a random picture of someone.

If he is legit, good luck to him and what ever school gets him:).

Bet he goes 2 and out and sectionals. :)

But seriously, wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't able to just stomp everyone. Ohio isn't exactly a shitty place for wrestlers. Too many farmy folks running around here for us to be bad at it.

yea but a kid who hasn't lost in 8 years wouldn't go 2 and out at sectionals! He would have to really suck!

Was a joke.

Although I have a hard time believing some kid who may, or may not, becoming to Ohio (and probably with limited folkstyle experience) and just stomp all over everyone. Maybe I'll be wrong. Doesn't bug me either way. If this kid is real it'd be interesting to watch.

I've been trying to find footage on like youtube and flo but there is nothing I have found yet. Guess we will all have to wait and see. i don't think the transition from freestyle to folkstyle would be that hard. It wasn't too hard for me to transition to freestyle in the marine corps. All well I guess we will wait and see!
