Washington C.H. wrestling continues to improve each week.
Congrats to State Qualifiers Riley Shaw and Paul Gryniuk and also to State Alternate Kole Trigg.
Riley Shaw was Districti Champion for Washington C.H. at 215 pounds the first since 1988 when Asst. Coach Shane Paul won the District.
Paul Gryniuk finished 4th after being a state alternate last year.
Kole Trigg is a state alternate at 112 he is just a freshman with the best yet to come from him.
The team finished 6th overall it is the best finish ever by a Washington C.H. wrestling team at the district tournament. The previous best finish was 7th in 1988.
The team also qualified to the State Duals next year by finishing 2nd to Graham in the underclassmen point total.
These wrestler's all helped contribute
152 Ben Parks 1 win
160 Patrick Wilson 2 wins knocking off Sectional Champ along the way
189 Spencer Shaw 1 win was a State Qualifier last year our only senior at the district, he has competed 4 years for us and come a long way, I wish him well he will be competing for Mount Union next year.
Hopefully we will have both wrestler's wrestling on Saturday next weekend it would be the first state placers since 1984.
