No real surprise. The minute the paperwork for the trade went through, the A's designated him for assignment.

He'll surface somewhere. He just won't be making nearly as much money this time around.

And it likely will be a minor league contract where he has to earn a spot on a MLB club. After last year's debacle, a team would have to be desperate to hand him anything other than a chance to make a 40-man.

This was pretty much stated like 10 days ago when he was DFA. A's had 10 days or so to get a trade done, he agree to a ML contract, or get released.

No news here.

Some team will prolly bring him in with low salary, maybe ML contract, and it would be a bad deal. Maybe ya catch lightening in a bottle..but no way sign him to much of a contract or gaurenteed spot on the roster
