I don't know if this has been posted or not, I did a search and nothing came up. Anyways, as a White Sox fan and someone who dislikes the Twins (a lot) this makes me sad. To be honest, I thought the Indians would have given him a shot.

One year, 1.5 million dollars.

Fuck no the Indians wouldn't, shouldn't give him a shot. That Cocksucker could have had a street named after him (in Cleveland) had he stayed with the Tribe. He ran for the money and he can die with his money. What a POS.

He and Manny, are in the same grouping. Hell, Manny let his equipment manager make the decision as to whether he was going to Boston or not. (not much love shown for Cleveland out or either of them).

I know someone will respond as to how much (non-profit/donations) money they provided the Cleveland community over the years, but they could have done that while playing for the Tribe.

Rant over and out.............. Fuck them both. Omar is the man, and will end his career "respectfully" in Cleveland.

The Tribe shell out $1.5M?....for Thome? They would not even consider Omar at $1M and he would have had more relevance for the team.

not sure what role he'll play for the Twins, they have Morneau at first, I'm assuming as a DH

It's a shame that people take more money elsewhere to do their job instead of being loyal to their old job and take less money....

$1.5 M? That's CC/Cliff Lee money in the Tribe's Mind. They wouldn't offer Thome more than about a case of Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold.

I wonder what would have actually happened if C.C. would have actually offered to give the Tribe a 'hometeam discount'.....I bet the Tribe would have balked anyway. It seems to be the Dolan's history to come in second in any major free agent bidding. The team had an opportunity to extend C.C. a full year before his contract year....and used the excuse of 'determining market value' to not make an offer that Sabathia would have accepted.. Who were they kidding? They knew what his market value was. The Cliff Lee trade and how they spun it was the most baldfaced lie yet. For years, I've taken Dolan at his word...that he'd spend when the time was right. But two Cy Young winners are gone without even an offer. Dolan has abdicated any claim to be deserving of fan loyalty.
