The four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion backed the Chevrolet-Riley hard into the barriers in the Kink after making contact with a GT car that apparently didn’t see him coming. Johnson is reported to be bruised from the accident, but has been given the all-clear to race this weekend.

The car was thought to be totalled, but rules would force the backup to be #98, so they are going to splice a new chassis together with the wreck.

That saddens me. Ok...not so much. Hopefully this is how he kicks off the start of the NASCAR season!
