Per ESPN
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4842263

Apparently Marc Trestman (former Oakland OC, current CFL coach) and Jim Haslett appear to be the frontrunners

Seriously why would anyone ever want that job? I mean I get it....it's an NFL head coaching job. But I really don't think a normal person would want to put up with all that craziness and BS.

If I remember right, Fassel wanted the job the last time too.

Well if you are coaching in the UFL or CFL or whatever that league is called, of course you want a chance to be a head coach in the NFL whether it is with the Raiders or not.

Put a tent over that circus!

This situatoin is like having an affair in a marriage. If ya want someone else...get a divorce THEN look. Dont test the waters first, audition diff sluts, I mean women, and then pick the best.

Fire Cable..then go ahead with a search. He must be pretty desparate to be a HC to take this.

I think more of it deals with his contract. If he quits he gets nothing, but if he's fired they have to pay him money. I'd hang on too and make them fire me.

probably right...but still....what a mess.

I dont think any established coach will wanna come into Oak while he is still in charge of the team. The may get luck with an up and comer but any good coach with xperience wont tough that job I dont hink

^^Well yeah...when you waste picks on Russel and Bey what do ya expect?
When that guy from TT, forget his name yet, finally signed way late he had more catches in his first game than Bey did that entire season up that point.

Just plain stupid moves....ones that can kill a franchise

I still can't believe Davis took Heyworthless-Bey over Crabtree and Maclin.

If I were Davis I'd watch out. Cable might break his jaw over this incident (he's been known to do it before---- allegedly).

I'm hearing that Lane Kiffin wants to hire Tom Cable, so Al Davis is refusing to fire him yet just to mess with Kiffin.
