Yeah. I've noticed he seems to slip up a lot, but this is pretty bad.

The only thing I can imagine is that he was going for King Junior, and it Came out Coon, before he stopped himself.

This. Obviously he was thinking King Junior and it came out wrong.

Not really. Do you actually think the man intentionally said the word coon?

Everybody has twisted words at one time or another.

In fact.....this is such a non issue, the mods should take down this thread...because the title is offensive.

This is either a mix up where he was simply mixed the words King and Junior or he has referred to Martin Luther King as Martin Luther Coon. Hopefully it's the former but either way there should be a swift and clear explanation. These type of things would never be a big deal if immediately after it happened he explained that he mixed his words up and apologized for any confusion. It's just a bad idea to let the internet talk about what you really meant for more than an hour.

I think the issue just needs to die. I also think that if he or ESPN comes out and says something it will draw too many eyes their way. Which will lead to Al Sharpton and others to call for Mike's job and head.

He was probably going to say 'King Junior' and it came out wrongly, as others have said.. If he didn't stop himself, he probably would have just said Cunior..

I'm sure we've all mixed up words, it happens..
