Kobe played 11 minutes in the 1st half, then played the entire 2nd half to avoid tightening up on the bench.

Bryant finished with only 10 points, but his final 2 were huge.

Good win and balance for the Lakers.

Bynum 22pts 11 rbs
Artest 16 pts 11 rbs
Odom 18 pts 14 rbs


Dirk led the Mavs with 30 points.

Actually, the go-ahead jumper was with 28 seconds left, and a Bynum Free Throw, and Farmar's 2 FT's cemented the W.

Seems like LA is much better off when Kobe is only taking around 20 shots a game. This is a solid road win though, something they needed to get.

Of course they are, and given a choice, Kobe would embrace it because that means everyone else is doing their job(s). It's nights when his teammates don't bother showing up that he has to shuck up everything in sight.

I don't really care how much he shoots because I trust Kobe's instincts more than anyone else in the Association.

At any rate, I still maintain 20 is a desirable #, and definitely no more than 25.

5-7 when Kobe has as many (or between +2 pt FGA more than points and +2 points than FGA. (Ex. lost when he had 20 points and 19 FGA and lost when he had 16 points on 24 shots.)

15-4 when Kobe has 30+ points.

Kobe's FGA on average in losses..24(81-216 37.5)...in wins...22.5(336-675 49.7)

2-1 when Kobe has a double-double.

9-2 when Odom has a double-double.

7-3 when Bynum has 20+ pts.

7-0 when Gasol has 20+ pts.

13-1 when Gasol has a double-double.

Bench average when Odom starts-16...when he comes off the bench..22

I doubt you would have said the same thing when comparing the Lakers record vs. the Cavs record before last night. You would have said 29-9 is better than 30-10 because of fewer losses.

There is barely a difference between 29-9 and 30-10 but there is a big difference between 21-5 and 9-4

All I know is that Bryant is ranked 98th in the league in 3 point shot percentage. (32%) That is putrid. Happy that all the Laker fans will agree with me here.
