The Bengals D has the potential to be the best in the NFL next year. Their defensive line has a fantastic rotation.
DE Michael Johnson, Odom, Geathers, Fanane, Rucker
DT Peko, Sims, Tank Johnson, Fanane
LB Rivers, Maualuga, Jones, Johnson, Jeanty, Hodge
CB Joseph, Hall, Trent
S Williams, Crocker, Ndukwe, Nelson
They could use another corner and safety for depth, but otherwise, at 100%, this defense was as good as anyone in the NFL for the first half of the year.
The offense is where the issues are, especially at WR, TE and OL.

Good move for the Bengals. I'll correct Azu and say they have the potential to be the 2nd best defense next season.

I think key injuries ended up being the downfall for the Bengals on the defensive side of the ball. If these guys stay healthy, it should be a good looking defense.

Definitely injuries hurt Cincy. Losing Maualuga and never having the d-line healthy (even after Odom went down) really hurt the rotation. Peko was banged up the entire 2nd half of the year, Tank Johnson, Sims, Geathers and Fanene all missed games due to injury as well. Obviously Williams was out, but missing Crocker as well hurt the Bengals.

Good proactive move by the Bengals. A couple more pieces to the O and to the D and we may have staying power in the North. I hate the roller coaster of 12-4, 3-13, 8-8, 4-11-1 and then 10-6. I want to be consistently contending!
