Not standing up for him, but you do realize other colleges have a "The" in their technical full names too, right?

My degree from OU has "The" in front of the school name. We're just not pretentious.

True, but I feel that's an Ohio State thing. That's just like Michigan or other universities saying they are from the "The U!" They can claim that, but when you hear it, you think of Miami lol.
