I would hate this. Baseball is already too long. So the season would last until about Thanksgiving now. Regular season awards would be handed out during Super Bowl week. I hate baseball.

^ agree 100% with the previous 2 posts. Hasn't been "America's Pastime" in a longtime. I am more excited to watch the SOCCER World Cup this summer than any baseball game this next year. I honestly don't know very many people who love baseball anymore.

this would be a dumb idea. You want to win the World Series and then expect a team after playing 200+ games(including spring training) to fly across the world and play in a series that amounts to nothing more than an exhibition?
Call me crazy but if the Yankees would have won this it would be VERY hard for me as a manager to go over there and put my big guns in the lineup or throw my studs on the mound.
More importantly as a player, how could I take it seriously with very little money and a meaningless trophy on the line?

I love baseball. But this is dumb. Sure the Japanese play good baseball and can win when they have their best players all one team (WBC) but when the players are split between different teams, the talent would be far too watered down for me to take them seriously. Hideki Matsui was a monster of there, he comes here, and is just a decent OF

I can't stand watching baseball on TV but don't mind going to games as athletic events in general are usually a good time.
Baseball needs to drop the moniker of World Series or own up and play teams from around the world.

Easy solution...incorporate Japanese teams into MLB...problem solved.

Baseball is terrible, worst of the 4 major sports in the US without a doubt. How it's "America's Pastime" is beyond me, perfect sport to nap too.
