We are excited to announce that the 4th Annual Ohio Novice State will be taking place on Sunday March 1 at the Koehler Fitness & Recreation Complex at the University of Findlay. The new venue will allow our wrestlers and their fans more room to enjoy their time at the Ohio Novice State. We are going to keep team scores this year, along with having our age groups be every 1 year rather than the typical 2 years. We hope this will encourage more novice wrestlers to come out and take part in the 2015 Ohio Novice State.


Wrestling will start at 9:00a on Sunday March 1st. Please register your wrestler at www.trackwrestling.com! You will be able to register and pay the entry fee through www.Trackwrestling.com.

Matches: Modified OHSAA rules, three 1 minute periods, Double Elimination, 10pt. technical. Certified Officials
Whats New 1. Tournament will be held in a larger venue at the University of Findlay.
For 2015? 2. Team scores will be kept for the 2015 Ohio Novice State.
3. Age Groups will be every 1 year rather than the typical 2 years.

Food/Admission: NO Coolers. Concessions are available. Admission fee collected @ door.

Qualifications: To be qualified you must meet ALL requirements:
1. Must be an Ohio resident
2. 3 years or less experience
3. No OAC state qualification (Not including 2014-2015 season)
4. No OYWA state qualification (Not including 2014-2015 season)
5. No placing in top 6 in OHIOWAY state, unless 8 or less in bracket
(Not including 2014-2015 season))
6. No returning Novice State Finalist (1st or 2nd Place)
7. In the event of a challenge all wrestlers MUST have a copy of
Birth Certificate and signed Novice Verification Form on site

Ohio has a rich tradition in wrestling and if you take a second and think back.......All wrestlers were novice at some point in their career. This tournament is being done to encourage kids to get involved in wrestling with the end goal of supporting and promoting wrestling at all levels in Ohio.


The 2015 Ohio Novice State is going to be held at the University of Findlay at the Koehler Fitness & Recreation Complex. We are hoping that a more centrally located facility will encourage more novice wrestlers to attend the 4th Annual Ohio Novice State.
