I've watched 'The Ed Show' and 'The Five' on separate nights this week and each of them devoted the entire 30 minutes to covering the plane disappearance. Very refreshing!
This morning they had the lady on who is the girlfriend of the American guy on the flight. To me...when one says life partner that sounds like they are gay.
Maybe they planned to spend their lives together but not get married. Marriage isn't for everyone. I would say that the boyfriend/girlfriend title isn't quite right for a couple who has been together for a very long time, or plans to be (Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn come to mind). Same caution they've given such the beginning. It's obviously not 100%, but I'm going with they had a really good reason for making a big deal out of this. I don't recall Australian officials specifically mentioning shipping containers as a possible explanation for the floating objects, but I suppose I could have missed that. I just heard it a few minutes ago for the first time, which made it sound like a new development, perhaps indicating that their confidence to any connection to the plane had waned. Also something to be said for the US knowing, but not wanting to just "whip it out" and embarrass everyone, nor does it want everyone to know what it can really do.
The scary part is that they divert resources to chase a ghost...and now you've added a whole other facet to a giant hole of the unknown.
