It was the arbitrator who upheld the decision on the appeal.

The only way I would sue is if reinstatement isn't granted immediately following the season.

Browns aren't going anywhere this year, so why delay the inevitable? Get it out of the way and come back next year when the team is hopefully another step or 2 closer to competing.

Josh Gordon is 8x worse of a person, and did an act 8x as worse as Rice according to the NFL.

I dont think it's fair to be mad at the NFL or Goodell for Gordon getting a full season. The NFL drug policy is pretty black and white. You fail a test you get x number of games. It doesn't matter if he barely failed a test or bombed the test he still failed. The worst part is after he failed he went out and got a DUI. Browns fans should be mad at Gordon and no one else.

As for the Ray Rice vs Josh Gordon issue. This isn't just an NFL problem it is a problem the USA has. Our country punishes people over a small amount of weed more then some violent crimes.

BTW... I have no problem with people who are complaining it took way to long to hand the suspension down. I agree 100% they should have acted much faster on this.

Josh Gordon fucked the Browns not the NFL

This team could quite easily rival the 2009 team with Mangini (after he traded Braylon and we have no playmakers) as the most unwatchable in Browns history.

Once Miles Austin gets his annual injury we will seriously have absolutely nothing at the position.

Cameron will be seeing 3-4 guys near him at all times and his production should fall through the floor. He is probably going to wish he had done a new deal already after this year is over with.

Haslam is going to blow a gasket by midseason when we are playing 6-3/9-6 type games every single week and the fans and lining up on the 480 bridge.

The confusing thing in this case is the samples after they were split in two. Why was one above the limit and one below the limit? I doubt we will ever hear the reasoning behind why sample A tested over 17% higher than sample B (16 vs 13.63). I cannot think of any test where a margin of error that high is acceptable.

I was driving around just now and heard an excellent point made on the radio.

The Browns knew given the CBA that it was either going to be all or nothing, and that a reduced penalty was not even possible given the way the CBA was written.

Why then didn't they just start the suspension when they found out instead of having him play and burying guys that were actually going to be on the field this year?

Farmer and Pettine were the ones who really bungled this when they knew that there was a 99% chance he wasn't going to play this year based on the letter of the law in the CBA.

It seems that like with so many other things related to this organization, denial and delusion once again took the place of common sense and good judgement and now we find ourselves in this mess which was entirely preventable.

Yet another indication that both these guys are in way over their head and not prepared to deal with the responsibility of running a successful organization.

Adam Caplan was just on ESPN ripping the Browns and how destitute they are at WR. Saying the Gordon was 38% of the passing offense last year and that to do nothing at the position knowing he was likely gone for the year was borderline negligence.

He mentioned that they "like Travis Benjamin" and I about wanted to puke because that ship has long since sailed as the guy is not a WR and is not reliable with his myriad of injuries.

I am more troubled than I was at the time of my last post about how deep in denial Farmer is. It puts into question whether he has any business running an NFL team.

This isn't the NCAA. You can't self impose penalties. The Browns had to wait for the NFL, so your great radio guy point is terrible. Shocker

They knew he wasn't playing this year most likely. People who were thinking 4-8 games were just making things up as that was never even a possibility given the CBA. It was all or nothing.

Every rep he took this off-season was a rep someone who was going to play this year wasn't taking. Not to mention that dreaming against hope for a solution that wasn't possible seems to have inhibited them from trying to address a WR situation that even with him was pathetic.

I just can't believe that I've been so pumped for the Buckeyes and the Browns all summer and here the season is about to start and our best players on both teams are out for the season before any games are even played. I just wish I wouldn't have even gotten my hopes up for Gordon possibly playing at all.

This is the first year I haven't felt even a little bit of that first game excitement where you believe everything could be different and we could suddenly be the 1999 Rams.

I am not shocked by the Gordon 1 year suspension. What I am shocked about is how long the appeal process took. Though the NFL did go away from the CBA and will give Gordon a chance to be reinstated to the League before training camp next season. So all he has to do is, not touch weed, and work out and be a good kid for 9 months......in other words, we are BONED! He may never see an NFL field again for the rest of his career, he has proven time and time again, he can NOT keep his nose clean. Sorry to be a realist here, I would love him on the team this year and MANY years after, BUT....if it happens, I will literally be shocked to the point I will piss my pants. Remember this post next June/July. Remind me of it if it actually happens, but I have been in the mindset of moving forward without him since before the draft.

"I am very disappointed that the NFL and its hearing office didn't exercise better discretion and judgment in my case." - Josh Gordon

All that needs to be said. This POS still not manning up and taking accountability here. I know he apologized to the fans, team, etc but this was ALL on Josh Gordon, NOT the NFL.
