I stopped listening half way through, but I kind of agreed with him if I understood him correctly.

Wasnt he saying who cares what the initial call is? I agree. If its under 2 minutes and close, just go look at the review and make a call. Whatever you think is the right call. Dont even bother with an initial call, or, at least dont make it so it has to be conclusive. Just make the call that you think it is based off the reviews.

Yes, he said ignore indisputable evidence and just make the best/right call.

Re: the reviews: I like how they have it now. The call was initially went off Lebron. It was certainly worth a review, though. I don't think they could for certain say that it did in fact touch Lebron or not, so stick with the original call. I didn't think Lebron touched it off after it went off Parker's leg, but from the angles presented it was hard to tell for sure.

The thing that needs to be changed is these guys are taking WAY too long to figure it out. I think after you watched the replay after the second time you could tell there was no way for sure to say Lebron did/didn't touch, so stick with the call and move on.

Fair enough. There really isn't a good argument against him. Any thing you would say would be opinion based, not fact based. Which could be interesting and valid, but I wouldn't agree. So you're probably right, not worth making a thread.

This is correct, and I also agree with him. "Indisputable evidence" is ridiculous. If they were sure about the call they wouldn't be reviewing it to begin with, so the original call shouldn't mean shit.

I also agreed with VG argument. If I make a call and I'm 90% sure I'm wrong I should reverse it not uphold it because of the 10% that I could be right.

Derek Fisher officially introduced as HC of the Knicks.

Doubt this keeps Melo around though, and aside from Melo he really wont have much to work with in NY. Hardaway Jr and Shump I guess are a solid young-ish backcourt but they both play the 2. (Guess Shump can guard some 3's in certain situations). Aging Chandler, Bargnargni(sp) Felton and JR Smith(if hes not a FA, i forget). Not exactly the best situation.

Thats if Shump is even there, theres a few articles saying that NYK and the Thunder are considering a Shumpert for the 29th Pick in the NBA draft deal. (guess it was offered at the deadline in february and NYK declined) I think that would Majorly help out the Thunder. Iman Shumpert is every bit as good of a defender as Thefalosha only younger, more athletic and has a better offensive game.

Phil might as well just coach this team, his imprints will be all over it. Watch them bring in Tex Winter as an assistant lol

"I think ill have Derek wear all 5 of his rings the first time he comes in and talks to Carmelo" -Phil Jackson

Lol so dumb, maybe Fisher can have a sitdown talk with Melo about how important it is to be a role player carried by 2 top 10 all time great players

As I said in the cavs thread, why hasn't Patrick Ewing been given any interviews?

No Rooney rule to work around?

Always rooted against Ewing's teams from college on.....at first I thought he was given an assistant's job as a courtesy, but years and years later he seems to have put well beyond the necessary time.

You present a good question...no clue to why he hasn't been asked to interview for multiple head coaching gigs.

I don't really understand the logic that great player = great coach.

I remember a few years back a couple analysts were saying that he is ready to have a head coaching gig, yet he is now getting passed up for guys who just retired from playing the game. It doesn't make sense to me. He at least has put in the time as an assistant coach.

It's better than average player = great coach.

I wasn't using that logic anyway.

That's probably not the logic.

The logic is probably something like..

Good NBA player+good leader+smart basketball mind/IQ=take a flyer on him being a good coach

They could go the Cavs route and get Byron Scott/Mike Brown type coaches...

The Spurs are shooting 90% from the field. I've never see anything like this before. Fucking insane.

It seems like the NBA is starting to make the retired point guard the head coach like the MLB has done with retired catchers.

Point guards, like catchers are considered the smart ones and the big guys like Ewing often get the "big dumb" label just because they are big.

Phil Jackson is just going with his guy....not sure how Kidd got his job.

So will the Heat have the lead by the time the 4th quarter starts or will it take longer than that? I'm saying at 8 minutes to go it will be a one possession game.
