Okay so what happens if come tomorrow morning some schooldistricts are closed due to weather? Dealingwith multiple school districts and decision makers who would make the finalcall if some school aren't allowed to travel tomorrow? I would hope that the powers to be have sometype of contingency plan in place since we know that bad weather is comingtonight.

Ellison which schools have closed because this could have aneffect on all the district tournaments in the state?

I think it was in 08 correct me if I'm wrong please. At our sectional seeding meeting we were toldthat some schools up north were closed and that our weigh in for sectionalswere scratch +5 because that was what the schools up north were getting. So I think they had to wrestle Saturday and Sundayto get ready for districts the following week. This could be a crazy weekend for all 3 divisions if some schooldistricts have already closed. It lookslike we'll have to wait and see what happens.

There will be wrestling tomorrow. A couple of years ago at Garfield Heights, school was closed but wrestling went on Friday night. This won't be bad enough to impact transportation Friday afternoon.

All 'non essential' City of Columbus employees have a 2 hour delay, so I would bank on the schools being at least that.
Stay safe friends.
Peace.

Hilliard city schools are closed today. No idea if that means wrestling is canceled or not.

Be sure to read and re-read this. By noon, our area's landscape will look much different than it does now.

Weep for the evening but a shout of joy comes in the morning!!!

Any announcement will be posted here: http://www.cdab.org/

Bowling has made a change.

ATTN: Wrestlers... WE ARE NOT BOWLERS!!! Be prepared to be on weight at 2pm and be ready to have your foot on the line at 4pm!!!

Again, by noon our city will look different!!! Remember Ohio's famous weather slogan... Don't like the weather??? Wait 4 hours!!!

Yea I agree, I believe it's suppose to be 47 by noon, I can't imagine it getting cancelled, unless there are guidelines stipulating mandetory cancellations of all school activites. If they still hold the tourneys around central & sounthern Ohio, it actually should work out better if the school holding the tourney is closed atleast. Allot less not wrestling traffic around the schools.

This is just the weather god's hand at work. Clear out the school, for this day Darby High School is sacred!!! There will be no bouncing of balls, opening and closing of lockers, eating in the cafeteria by mere mortal students. Nay, say the gods. This day is set apart for the district wrestling tournament!!!

I like it. As far as weight allowances, I wouldn't think since this is the day of tourney, they probably won't give any will they?

Seriously doubt it. If you or a family member - or a friend of the family - is supposed to make scratch plus two, you - or they - had better be there! (But no rush. They have until 2pm.)

I'm sure the weather will be fine and the roads safe by this afternoon. But, like someone else said; some districts have weird rules about not being able to do any after school activities on days school is closed (regardless of whether it "clears up" later in the day.) So, until somebody says its definitely on, I'll prepare for plan A and plan B.

I just checked the radar... 99% of the system is beyond Darby HS. I'd say 80-90% has cleared Columbus. Areas like Mount Vernon, Westerville, Delaware, some of the Olentangy area are still covered by the system, but that system seems to be moving by rather quickly.

A good friend of mine - she was an orphan; cutesy little thing - her name was Annie... She once said to bet my bottom dollar that the sun would come up. I'll let you know around 8:30am if she was right!

Also, I had another group of friends - four of them as a matter of fact - who, on a night that we say around on the back porch just playing music, came up with a song as the night turned into day. It started out "Here comes the sun..." I liked that tune. They had a real knack for good melodies.

Didn't they also come up with a little jig named the yellow submarine as well? Or was that on someone elses back porch? :)

I almost made reference to that time period. They got a little big-headed and were convinced they could sing a song about ANYTHING and it would be a number one hit. Well they were right. And then it REALLY went to their heads. Heck... One of them said they were bigger than Jesus!!! Now THAT is big!!!

No word yet on the Darby District so things are at Plan A status.

Half Full Nelson: good on ya mate for planning ahead. Those who fail to plan, plan to fail.

I don't doubt the sun will come up. Shoot, it could be 75 and sunny by noon. But, that doesn't answer the question of whether Hilliard has a 'black and white' rule that prohibits athletic competition if school is closed for weather. (I certainly hope not.)

True.

I'll infiltrate their complex web database over the next 45 to 60 minutes and inform you with what I find. The cryptics of the Hilliard School System are probably based on a binary system so hacking should be no problem. The biggest problem will be finding its actual location.

Once I locate it, I'll have to bypass the security measures. I'm pretty sure there are three of them.

#1) it's a sound proof room any noise above a certain decibel level will mean doom. ...toast. Toast! TOAST. Got it.
#2) a temperature monitor recognizes the presence of humans. A change in room temperature by even the smallest of percentages will have me serving jail time.

#3) Lastly, the floor is pressure sensitive to the Nth degree. Even the hairs of your head or one drip of sweat falling onto the floor will set of the alarm.

But for you, and the rest of the area, and the Central District wrestling tournament I will brave such conditions. Wish me luck.
