Can't argue with that. Only time will tell. I would like to see him do well depending on where he ends up...but I wouldn't bet on him being successful in the league. He has an okay shot IMO.

Then Jarvis jones should slip then. Bama completely just ran at him the entire game and he was dominated. I don't see that being mentioned. Also when you have a center like Barrett jones that can contain nix 1 on 1 those big guards of bama could get to the lb's and that exactly what bama did. Bama had a great gameplan and executed it to perfection.

WHen you do have a dominant ILB the key is to bring guys right at him. Too many coaches want to run away from the great ILB's only to find the ball carrier getting ran down by the LB they were runnign away from. Have a great ILB on the other team? Run at him. Run directly at him. Make him shed blockers and make the tackle.
We had a great LB at our HS. Went to OSU and got drafted. Teams would try to run away from him only to get tracked down. The only success ever against him was going straight to him. An OL/FB takhing him head on and then having to shed the blocker and then make the tackleright way.

Manti Teo was a nice college LB. Would he have gotten the pub if he wasnt at ND? Probably not.

There is speed, and football speed and instincts. The fastests guys at a position arent always the best, just like in baseball the fastests guys arent always the best baserunners.
Teo maybe has some intangibles and instincts that will do him well. He is getting the extra scrutiny because of what happened off the field and in the NC game.

I know why he is getting the extra scrutiny....again, just don't see the logic in putting ALL of the weight on 1 game or an off-the-field issue. That's all. I do acknowledge and understand that plays a part in this but I guess it's just being overstated IMO.

BTW, were you referring to Katzenmoyer?

I see what you're saying. This is the nitpicking time of year for NFL execs/scouts/coaches and of course the media is what brings it all to us and gets us nauseaus.

Ha..no. Not Katzenmoyer. That guy was a turd of a person. There was a local stag night where many current/former OSU players would come to and on more than one occassion he committed to show but always was a no show. Did see him last year playing on a travelling OSU squad for fundraisers...dude looks like he is 50!

Was talking about Ross Homan. He ended up getting drafted by the Vikings and then suffered a concussion and camp and gave it up. He is a great kid, very smart and didnt need football to be successful and the after affects of the concussion was enough for him to hang up his spikes.

It's the Chiefs. They'll probably end up drafting Geno Smith.

And then trade him to the Raiders for 11 first round picks.

http://www.rotoworld.com/articles/nfl/42638/60/nfl-combine-fallers

A list of players whose stock has fell since the combine. I knew Te'o would be on there but some other names surprised me a little.

Also, WTF was Montgomery thinking with those answers???

Chiefs are dumb as f#ck. Giving up a HIGH 2nd rounder for Alex Smith? The Niners already had 11 draft picks prior to this. I could see SF parlaying this into a trade for Revis. How sick would Revis be in that defense?

Saw this on another forum....

Alex Smith has only won 2 games in his career when the opponent has scored at least 24 points.

Should help Jamaal Charles at least. Smith is a clear step up from Cassell and Quinn

I didn't want him for the Browns because unless you have a shutdown defense and a ridiculously strong running game (Browns have neither) Smith will be exposed. He's the quintessential "game manager." Won't lose you games (with turnovers) but he certainly won't win many either (with his arm).

I don't doubt that Smith will do well in Andy Reid's offense. He has the running back (Charles) and they have some nice pieces on defense. If they keep Bowe, they will have some nice possession receivers for him to throw to. He doesn't need a vertical threat with his game (dink & dunk).

Charles is their best player, so if he can open him up, they'll definitely have a shot at making the playoffs

The team is already too strong. They'll be in the Super Bowl next year.

The latest now is taht the steelers will redo the ballboy and waterboy's contract to get under the cap.

It is getting rediculous. It wasnt long ago I was always a proud steelers fan on how they dealt with contracts and such, but this team is about ready to implode. They are setting themselves up for a huge dropoff in a couple of seasons. What had made the steelers so tough was their depth over the years if guys got hurt but not anymore. It isnt like they went crazy in FA signing guys. They drafted well, and got lucky that Harrison became a star and kept them around. I guess ya can blame it on drafting and signing some extremely good players and keeping them but right now they are in bed with the devil in terms of the cap.

You talking about the chiefs or niners?
No way teh chiefs are making it....they will get beat out by the browns. Check out the browns thread and if the front office follows the lead of browns fans they will have a team potentially that could go undefeated.

This is well known on this whole site, I just wanted to give him a chance to see if he could back up his claim. Based on the response below, I am going to guess and say he couldn't back up his claim....
