Yeah I know, but the Giants always look like shit ~50% of the time and end up winning a Super Bowl after barely making playoffs.

I am not sure they can possibly keep up that kind of pace, but man is Kelly pushing the envelope. I like it.

That Washington TD play is nuts.

Also, ESPN needs to turn up the mic on Chuckie and Tirico, can't hear them at all (some people might like that though I guess).

I thought that was a catch too. I never saw it hit the ground. Could be a great challenge.

I can't even believe there was about a 24 hour period earlier this year where we though Kelly was coming to Cleveland.

I hope Joe Banner is watching this game. They were 4-12 last season. No 5 year plans necessary when you get the right guy.

I actually like Chud and am fine with him, but man would it have been nice to watch this kind of up tempo brand of football, even if we didn't have the guys right off the bat to run the system correctly.

Kelly wasn't going anywhere that didn't have the thoroughbreds already in place

Phili was by far the best fit for Kelly. Cant blame Banner for not getting him at all. Browns have nowhere near the offensive weapons Phili does.

Kelly used the Browns to drive his price up. And it worked.

Do we see NFL teams looking to consult with successful defensive coordinators from the college ranks to stop the spread option as more teams in the NFL are looking to have success with it?

Kelly has final say over the 53 man roster in Philly, and was demanding that wherever he went apparently.

That took Cleveland out of the running, as Joe Banner would have never considered allowing that to happen.

Kudos to Philly for having the balls to hand a college coach that kind of power given the checkered history of success from other guys making a similar jump.
http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/inq-eagles/Chip-Kelly-has-final-say-over-53-man-roster.html[LEFT]Eagles coach Chip Kelly confirmed he has final say over the 53-man roster on Tuesday, which is a relevant piece of information because the head coach does not have control over the 53-man roster on most teams.

The head coach has final say on the 53-man roster on just five NFL teams, and two of those coaches have additional titles that gives them full control of football operations. The general manager has final say on 24 teams. There are three teams in which it's ambiguous. This is all according to NFL.com's Albert Breer, who did a series this summer on who has control in each organization.

Kelly's confirmation reveals just how coach-centric the Eagles organization is, even if general manager Howie Roseman holds significant power -- especially during the offseason and with the player transactions. He runs the draft and free agency, for example, and is in a more stream-lined structure than when he was originally general manager. "We're on the same page on everything," Kelly said. "There hasn't been a decision, personnel wise, since I've been here, where I felt one way and he felt another way."

Kelly is the only new hire this offseason who has final say on the 53-man roster. That includes Andy Reid in Kansas City, where general manager John Dorsey has the final decision on the 53-man roster.

In Cleveland, where Kelly was also a candidate, Joe Banner has final say on the 53-man roster.

That's nice, but he wasn't gonna have Vick, Jackson, McCoy, and Celek off the bat in Cleveland, nor would he acquire that kind of talent quickly. He was never going to Cleveland. He's an egocentric guy. He's more worried about proving himself immediately than trying to build a team.
