I know I heard a few times either on ESPN radio or ESPN telecasts that the Ravens defense was supposedly even better after losing Reed and Lewis as they are now supposedly younger, quicker and added some pieces such as Dumervil to compliment Suggs; I think those sentiments can officially be put to rest.

Edit: I know Sanchez's butt fumble is up there as one of the worst all time plays. But last night had two pretty bad ones as well that not only were idiotic just because of the play and result itself but also since they lead to injuries to key players:

1) The idiot who ran into Jacoby Jones and injuring him on that punt return.

2) Trevathan dropping the pick 6 well before the goal line not only resulting in a touchback but also leading to the injury of Woodyard who was trying to recover his fumble.

It's one week, I'm not willing to completely write them off after they got their ass handed to them by a HoF QB and prob a top 3 QB of all time. Also just remember that the Browns in 2008 kicked the defending SB giants ass on MNF, then uder Erica Womangini they kicked the Saints and the Patriots asses in back to back weeks. 1 week could be a fluke, now they look the same next week I might be willing to call it a trend.

I'm not saying their season is ruined, I just found it humorous that people thought the defense would be better this year (although I do understand the point that at times they did seem old and slow last year). I do think Lewis was running on fumes or deer antler shavings, it's really hard to tell differentiate. But you don't lose players like Lewis, Reed and Boldin (offensive obviously) and get instantly better. In the long run it will be for the best as every team does have to remake themselves, but I think they will struggle to make the play-offs this year.

Also, I admittedly have never jumped on the Flacco elite QB bandwagon, I think what he did was impressive but also more of a fluke and his play will regress to what he is, a good QB but not on the level of Manning, Brady, Rodgers, Brees.

But then again, I could also be completely wrong, that's the fun of sports!

Man, I missed a good bit by passing out drunj on a couch. Last thing I remember was 28-17.

Damn tequila caught up to me...next thing I knew, the Channel 4 news was on and it was about 1:30.

Unfortunately, I think the Ravens defense will be fine. Is there a tougher start to a season for a defense than having to face Peyton Manning with big time weapons in the altitude of Denver with 90 degree temperatures, and a no huddle offense? The Ravens were gassed, and it's easy to see why.

LOL at Jim Harbaugh right now.

He is pissed at the newly clarified option on the defense's ability to hit QB's running the read option.

Basically the NFL has said now they are fair game until it is clear they have gotten rid of the ball.

Harbaugh apparently thinks that isn't fair, and that they should be protected when faking like they still have teh ball (trying to fool defenders).

The end game is that teams are going to start drilling QB's if they're trying to carry out good fakes after having handed-off the ball, which is one of the things that made it so hard to defend. Not knowing who actually had the ball.

I'd never wish an injury on any player but supposing I did wish such things to happen Flacco would be one of my first picks.

And if somehow as he was being injured the players careened into the sidelines taking down coaches just below the knees it would be my pick to see Harbaugh get taken out right after Rex Ryan but that is only if I wished such things and for the record I don't.

I sure hope the US comes out with more energy on Tuesday than they did last night. CR just simply out played them. What exactly happened to Bradley, and how bad is it? They were really missing him last night? It's evident that some QB's look pretty good. Pryor. Manuel.

Others, look like absolute garbage. Gabbert. Ponder. Weeden.

Directv had it 4-0 at one point too. They have one reversed I wonder?

It was just misclassified. The defense recovered a fumble in the endzone and they just messed it up.

Dumb plays really bother me and David just single-handedly changed the outcome of the game with 7 seconds left and the QB already out of bounds.....but I'm glad he's tough.

SMH...and helping out the fuckin Jets so we can hear the effin media talk about them. Fuck them.

The Jets are one of about a half dozen teams who will be talked about regardless of what their record is. The Patriots, Cowboys, Peyton's team and Tebow's team are also in that mix.

I can't blame the team.....David was the dumbass who pushed the Jets into FG range by not controlling himself

I hate them. I'd much rather listen to and sports talk about the Browns or Bengals. Rex Ryan might be my most hated sports figure.
