Redskins driving down the field by a touchdown with like < 2 minutes left. RGIII completes a pass on second down to someone and it looks like he's a yard or so short of the first down. As they're lining up, the refs quickly overturn that and say its first down (a couple of them are signaling first down but I don't think it was consensus amongst all of them). So at this point it's not 3rd and 1, it's first down. Anyways, the Redskins coaching staff saw the first down and changed the play to pass down the field (which is dropped). However, at this point, the refs change their mind about the previous play and say it
wasn't a first down -- so now it's 4th and 1 instead of 2nd and 10. So on 4th and 1, RGIII completes a pass to Garcon who has it ripped from his hands by a Giants defender, and game over.
Michaels and Collinsworth kept remarking that if it was 3rd and 1 like it was originally called, the Redskins probably don't choose to throw 20ish yards down the field. The refs should have just stopped and measured.
