A couple of positive updates regarding Notre Dame and Eddie Vanderdoes. Supposedly one of the other programs in on him have told some people he's Irish. Gonna be a long wait until 10 pm.

Alabama says they are out of it and finished 2nd for EV.

Vanderdoes sounds pretty good for ND. Love getting stud defensive players, especially on the line. So hopefully this is true.

So what are your way too early projections for next season?

I noticed usc is in the middle of the season. That's unusual isn't it? Or am I wrong?

I think they'll be favored in every game except at Stanford to end the season and probably at Michigan. No idea on how they will do record wise but I think they'll lose a game like Arizona State at Jerry World.

The defense should be really good again, but I can't see them leading the nation in ppg. They lose one starter at each level of the defense but have a lot of guys coming back that have played a lot of football. They should play a more aggressive style with both corners returning.

Offense will be interesting to see which direction they go. Kelly really liked the two TE sets where he could run with both attached or split them both out. There won't be a proven TE like Eifert that could do both really well. There is going to be 5 RBs in the mix to get carries but I don't know if any of them will separate until well until the season is a month old. There should be pretty good depth of talent at WR but a couple are going to have to step up to be go to guys. Jones had been solid and Daniels showed glimpses before breaking good collarbone. If Golson continues to improve like he did over the last month of the season they will score a lot of points.



When the Southern Cal game is in South Bend, its played in October. SC doesn't want to play in South Bend in November. I believe they threatened to cancel the series a while ago (50s or 60s) if the game wasn't moved earlier in the season. Before then it was played on Thanksgiving weekend no matter where it was played.

I think it's to the point where every season needs to be bcs game or bust. Especially with all that ND has coming back. The offense really depends on how well Golson improves. As lotz said they should be favored in every game but maybe Michigan and will definitely be underdogs to Stanford to finish the year.
