I'm glad the Browns are finally throwing some money at some "name-brand" players instead of trying to find the diamond in the rough for cheap and/or trading away draft picks for old talent that no one wants to pay for. It's not my money anyways, let's try to win a super bowl in the next 50 years.

I have no issue when they are throwing money at the 25-26 year olds coming off of their rookie contract but when they start signing the Willie McGinest/Ted Washington types, then I have a problem with FA.

the salary cap floor starts this season. This starts the first year in a 4 year system where teams must spend at least 89% of the cap. Doesnt mean they have to spend at least that much each season, but over the 4 year period from how I am understanding it. There are two four year cycles.
Browns were way under the cap so they gotta spend some of that first communion money

Sounds like the Browns wanted to trade for Ryan Mallett but the old CBA is preventing them from doing it.

Apparently it would be a sign (long term contract) & trade type of deal, from what I understand. Under the old CBA, which Mallett is under (his contract), this can't be done? Some kind of loophole.

If I remember correctly you are a Fremont native right? I am from that area as well. I have never met Woodson personally but have always heard that he would like to return to the area.

Browns look to have shifted WR interest to Greg Jennings. Kruger is No. 1 priority, but don't be surprised with big push
