No you wouldn't. You're being over dramatic because you're too close to the situation. There are worse NFL backups than Weeden right now who would be much worse. Tuel is one of them. Not saying Weeden doesn't suck, because he does, but he's not the worst QB in the league.

Matt Barkley agrees.

Lol at USC, the crown jewel of colleges producing overhyped QBs.

Anybody going to start a game day thread? I failed miserably last week. Don't want a bungals thread to go up before a Browns one.

Believe me, there are at least 15 QB's at or below Weeden's level in the NFL and that's not including rookies like Barkley. He still sucks but he's far from the worst.

I am saying I would take any other QB in the league to start this weekend over weeden. Not saying he is the worst, but saying he's the last person I want QBing this team.

He does shit that makes me embarrassed to be a browns fan. Plus he's a ginger

Ok, well that makes more sense. I get the "last person I'd want starting at QB" part now.

The Browns need to make a phone call to Troy Smith and see if he wants to win games in the NFL. Can you imagine the price of tickets if you bring in a Heisman trophy winning Ohio State QB?

Maybe even BR would go to a game then.

The disappointing thing for me isn't the fact that Weeden blows, is terribly inaccurate, and is a ginger, it's the fact that he doesn't learn from making mistakes. How many people verbally acknowledge that they need to change something (get the ball out faster) and then continue to make the same mistake. Not to mention, I KNOW he got ripped for that ridiculous underhand shovel attempt that got picked against the Lions, and then he turned around and did the same BS this past week. Only Brett Favre gets away with that crap...

When you can't change what you know needs changing, it means you just don't have the ability. Weeden can't read a defense, plain and simple. He can't see a play developing, he has to wait till it's already developed, and in the NFL, it's already too late at that point. The successful QB's throw to spots where WR's will be, not where they already are.

Started it. If we lose, someone besides one of us will need to start the next one.

Yeah I mean Carson Palmer isn't even a "successful" QB anymore, and he was throwing passes on the money right before receivers made their cuts last time I watched him. Weeden blows

Thank you. I've been trying to explain why Weeden sucks so bad, but I couldn't find the proper (and non-profane) words. You hit the nail on the head.

You know, when you have 3rd and 8 and throw a six-yard pass over and over again it might mean you cannot comprehend what it means to be a quarterback in the NFL.

6 yard passes are fine when you have the accuracy to lead your receiver into open field, but even when Weeden gets a receiver open the throw is not in the right place.

Sure it does. Anyone who isn't a full blown blind OSU homer has seen enough of Troy Smith to know he blows.

He has a winning record as a QB in the NFL and posted a 150+ passer rating in 2008. The guy is a winner and can win games for the Browns if they'd only give him a chance.
