This deal must be inclusive of Iran sending their uranium stockpile to Russia to be produced into fuel rods and no longer accessible for use in a weapons program. I bet we don't hear that to be the case. All of the PF+1 nations agree that such a stipulations is paramount.

Without the above all we are doing is lifting sanctions increasing the influence of Iran and their pure evil in the world.

oh...it would be nice if we could include the return of the Americans Iran is holding captive as part of the deal.

With the Norks, they never signed the Additional Protocol and never had their facilities under IAEA inspection. So, one cannot compare the two.

That is true and one thing they will have to work out, the Russia fuel. But, Russia has had the same position since 2006 on the issue. Just as important will be how the decrease in enrichment is phased in and how long it will take the IAEA to really be involved.

Covert facilities are subject to inspections and so are military facilities under the Additional Protocol. Also, as Iran is now subject to Code 3.1, they have to inform the IAEA about any construction to any facility for their nuclear program.

I'll admit, this is a good framework, but the real question will be how this frameworks turns into an agreement in June and if any of it falls apart.
If anything does fall apart, sanctions are back in.

I would love Iran to give up its whole program too, but that is not reality. Instead, we have to ensure we verify and this hopefully gets us there. The Additional Protocol really helps with that. I am shocked that Iran agreed to it.

No. If it has anything to do with nuclear material it is subject to verification.
These are applied to declared and undeclared sites.

Under the Additional Protocol, explains in some detail what they can do.

Also, if Iran is doing anything nuclear related at a military base and did not tell the IAEA, they are in breach of the AP.

All of this is no doubt written in the finest and most eloquent diplomatic language known to man...and none of it will matter in the least to the Iranian leadership.

Since the fall of the Shah, Iranian leadership has notoriously shown willingness to smile, shake hands, and make all sorts of promises at the negotiating table to lessen international financial pressures on their nation while clandestinely going about their business.

One can compare the two and I did. The comparison is the reliance on the information provided to us from our Executive Branch. Are you suggesting I not do so?

My understanding that sending their uranium to be produced into fuel rods isn't even part of the deal. I hope that's not the case because without this we are just dancing around and wasting time.

Obama should just personally deliver a nuke to the Ayatollah's himself and save everyone the time/effort associated with this kabuki of inspections.

He wants the Iranians to ultimately have a nuke because he hates Israel and feels this will "balance" out the middle east by ensuring there is now a nuclear counterweight to them.

He has been itching to shove it up Netanyahu's ass since he took over the presidency, and he finally has his chance now.

Obama and Kerry literally chained themselves to the table and told the Ayatollah's they weren't leaving without a deal, so take whatever you want. Now the Iranians will have their coffers filled without being hampered by sanctions, and will have billions of new dollars available to fund all of their favorite terrorist satellite groups like Hezbollah and Hamas, as well as Asad in Syria.

This will be all courtesy of "The One" who has been waiting for his opportunity to fix what he sees as the injustice of Israeli security in the Middle East. He wants them vulnerable and scared much like he has made much of America under his watch.

Iran has rejected agreeing to any inspections to verify they are not making bombs. Is there really a deal to make?

It's important that Iran hears and knows that all options are on the table when these negotiations mature to their final details. It endears our allies to us just a little and it puts us in a position of strength in the talks.

As an aside, this thread should be titled "Disgusted with the Obama Regime" as calling it an administration gives it an air of credibility it doesn't deserve and certainly hasn't earned.

I would have thought Quaker of all people would know better than to give this regime full of jack booted thugs any semblance of legitimacy. Our Dear Leader was exchanging pleasantries with the Castro Brothers today for Christ sake. His contempt for America is not well hidden anymore and it is a shame he is in charge of anything a level above county dog catcher, much less the Presidency.
