Shouldn't you be quoting Allen West about how everything is the Democrat Party's fault, etc. etc. Wash, Rinse, Repeat (except in the case of white teenagers from Bay Village without a hint of irony).HitsRus;1689091 wrote:Yeah....MSDNC....on that channel evry thing is rose colored.
Don't get the irony with the Bay Village teens. Pretty sure if one of them punched a police officer then charged him and was shot dead Hits and most everyone else would say he died as a consequence of his own actions not some heavy handed police execution. My brother and I played far worse pranks on each other growing up than the Bay Village teens. You people want to make everything to be about skin color instead of personal actions.BoatShoes;1689587 wrote:Shouldn't you be quoting Allen West about how everything is the Democrat Party's fault, etc. etc. Wash, Rinse, Repeat (except in the case of white teenagers from Bay Village without a hint of irony).
You've actually got it wrong because the point is what HitsRus chose to emphasize in the two various cases. Little Kid Tamir Rice is playing with a toy and gets gunned down by a Cop it's always about "being culpable for your own actions."majorspark;1689674 wrote:Don't get the irony with the Bay Village teens. I thought you were solely referring to the bay village kids dumping piss/shit on the kid. Many of us found a big problem with the Tamir Rice killing including myself. Perhaps not Hits but I and many other said the police approach was aggressive and would appear to myself and others to be incorrect procedure. The officers involved should be held accountable.BoatShoes;1689702 wrote:You've actually got it wrong because the point is what HitsRus chose to emphasize in the two various cases. Dumping piss/shit as a prank on a kid is one thing that can bring with it some consequences. Brandishing a realistic looking firearm in public in a threatening manner can bring much greater consequences. Like I said the police response was overly aggressive. Tamir Rice should not have been killed nor even charged. The kids dumping shit on a kid as a prank should have been charged and were. Calling for there heads like some were was not fitting of their crime. Modest punishment in the hopes they get their shit together (no pun intended) as adults would have been sufficient. Insinuating that modest punishment in that situation compared to comments made on other situations is because of skin color is where "you people" go wrong.BoatShoes;1689702 wrote:kids in bay village commit crimes it's always "they're just kids."
Wearing scantily clad clothing does not have the potential for violence and physical harm by the one wearing the clothing. Most of the aforementioned activities do.BoatShoes;1689702 wrote:It is "you people" who have it wrong. Playing with a toy gun, robbing a store, resisting arrest, holding a gun in wal-mart, getting mad about police stopping you...even if these things are sins they are not the sins that warrant death at the hands of a public servant/government agent who is supposed to be protecting individual citizens from these penultimate trespasses on their life; not anymore than the sin of wearing scantily clad clothing or acting "slutty" means that we should demand young women take responsibility when they get raped.
Several of us criticized the militarization of the local police including myself specifically in the Ferguson case. Also small government conservatives tend to be more critical of the big government federal agents than small government local agents.BoatShoes;1689702 wrote:And that is not to say that the rules of criminal procedure indicate that these cops should be in jail or whatever for these incidents...the point is that "you people"...the folks who bitch and moan about government tyranny when some Federal agents demand free loading cattle drivers pay up...you should be aghast but that's not the reaction or the emphasis.
You would think that so-called small government conservatives might be at least a little concerned about government agents killing people who have not committed acts that warrant death. Saying the cops should be indicted or jailed under our particular justice system is one thing. But you might expect at least a little genuine sympathy or outrage and these wanton killings.
You are picking small phrases out of their context by a select few posters. Not saying they are not wrong just saying using them to paint the majority of conservatives in a colored light is just not correct.BoatShoes;1689702 wrote:But no. That is not what we hear. Indeed there is irony because we don't hear any of that shit that is extraneous to what is really going on in HitsRus' rants when is defending the sweet little innocent suburban boys from beautiful Bay Village. No emphasis on personal actions; the uppityness of whites in suburbia who think they can get away with this sort of thing...no complaints about the parents who might let this behavior go on unchecked...no pause to ask why these little white boyx might think that they didn't actually have a genuine prison risk when they committed a crime, etc. etc.
tl:dr = black kids...be accountable for your actions white kids....just kids who don't deserve to be punished for life (and racism is totes gone even though I'm reading posts of supposedly professional whites saying things like "black people are animals)

I don't think Hits shares those opinions but I do think there is a decidedly different point of emphasis from him and other of the more reasonable members of the broader conservative movement when it comes to these incidents involving young black folks as opposed to what I thought is a good example with regard to the delinquency of the coddled white boys in Bay Village.majorspark;1689733 wrote:

It's very simple...you empathized with the coddled white boys from bay village. You expressed no empathy in these other cases and lectured on and on about Obama and pontificated about the Democrat Plantation nonsense and how these blacks need to start realizing they're responsible for their own deaths.HitsRus;1689785 wrote:No , Boat, you have it ALL wrong(as usual ).... I said the teens should be held accountable to the full extent of the law vs the vigilantes who wanted these kids to do hard time for a non violent crime that 40 years ago was a standard fraternity prank . It's about the rule of law and respect for that... Not taking the law into your own hands. It's about allowing the authorities to do their jobs in accordance to the law.

I never even mentioned the specific legal ramifications. I'm talking about the frame of reference and the certain types of language and biases that you exhibit when discussing the different matters at hand. Good to see that you completely missed the point and demonstrated in flying colors exactly what I was ribbing you for. Congratulations. Maybe if life were more like a Woody Allen movie we might get to see you give your lectures to Tamir Rice's parents, Eric Garner's kids, etc. in person.HitsRus;1690139 wrote:LOL...such a typical lib. Race is not even involved with the Bay Village teens, but somehow you managed to inject it. How clever to make an unsubstantiated judgement that these boys are "coddled" just because they are white and from Bay Village. Now if you want to take a leap and say that I empathized with the franternity style prank because I was on the judiciary committee of the IFC at college and am pretty familiar with college pranks....If you want to call that empathy because I'm familiar with the psyche of what goes on in young men's/kid's heads ... I'll accept that very loose definition for the sake of argument. Following your premise, I don't empathize (I am not familiar) with the psyche of people who rob stores and disrespect cops, sell illegal items resist arrest... Ok?
One thing that I talked about in both cases is responsibility for one's actions and following the letter of the law in adjucating these cases. Just because, in your opinion, the the Bay Village teens "are coddled white boys" doesn't mean that they should get punishment above and beyond that which is prescribed BY LAW. In their case, the prosecution charged them with all that was applicable, and they were sentenced in accordance with juvenile law. The teens are responsible for their actions,(which they accepted) and they were charged and properlysentenced.
Likewise, in the other cases, lawbreakers have responsibility in the chain of events that led to their deaths.
The one thing that is clear in both cases is that the law cannot be disregarded to satisfy a vigilante mob's skewed sense of social justice.
I have yet to hear our leaders vocalize anything of the kind.
Note to boat:...I understand that Allen West unnerves you. Black people are just not supposed to think that way....dangerous...very dangerous.
Yep, brilliant and admirable for the POTUS to embrace common sense. He really excels when he doesn't have to do anything.BoatShoes;1690272 wrote: How awesome was it that Obama didn't listen to all of the hysterics saying he should have shut down flights from Africa and there was going to be an epidemic?? Way to go Obola!
I'm not going to quote your entire misfired rant, other than it demonstrates the typical mindset that looks to shift blame where it's not entirely warranted. In no way do I blame anybody for the deaths but the participants in the incidents. Obama is NOT responsible."Well you know if he wouldn't have been so upset about five cops surrounding him stopping and seizing his time, Eric wouldn't have ended up dead. He was culpable for his own death because he doesn't have respect for authority. And, ultimately this goes right to the top and is Obama's fault and really your own fault for buying into the lies of the democrat party. Vote Republican."

The tax code in this country favors the extreme wealthy more than any other developed country - part of the cause of the gap that continues to grow. The ultra wealthy have a great thing going because they've successfully bamboozeled right wing zealots into equating the financial interest of that ultra wealthy with patriotism. So guuys like you go out and stump on their behalf and use the old "Marxist" label (kind of like when Adolf's name is brought out to demean someone). If you make over 200k per year in capital gains and your tax rate on this is going from 23 to 28 percent - man oh man, what a problem to have.QuakerOats;1697473 wrote:http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2015-01-18/obama-tries-tax-cuts-on-rich-again-offset-by-new-breaks.html

According to Forbes, the top 1% owns 43% of the wealth in the nation, so that number you cite is actually very favorable to them.QuakerOats;1697804 wrote:The top 1% pay 38% of all taxes; the bottom 50% pay 3%.
