I just checked the online version of the Columbus Dispatch for any wrestling results. I was shocked to find out that everyone took the weekend off. I assume the entire city went north for to watch the Ironman!

Wait a minute...

I thought Marysville and Teays Valley hosted dual meet tournaments!? And I thought Olentangy Liberty and Dublin Coffman hosted large, individual style tournaments!?

So we have two options: either the results were sent in or they weren't.

If they were not submitted, then let's hold back torching the Dispatch plant. I'll put my lighter down if you'll cap the gasoline.

If they were submitted but received after the deadline, then that's cool. Deadlines are deadlines.

But if the results were sent in, and done so prior to the deadline, and then not published (once again, I only saw the online version. The hard copy may have a ten page spread highlighting each tournament), then something has to change.

Just one man's opinion.

I think your edition is bad. Got my edition and the Olentangy Liberty results are in. With Marysville, Dublin and Madison Plains.

Up North here...The Daily Record has a nice write up on the local Wayne Invitational... a 16 team invite. There is also a story on the Marysville tournament where D-III Waynedale came out with a runner-up finish to D-I Maarysville 42-35

Local TV Sports report had some film from Saturday's Fitch-Howland-Boardman Tri. Print Media (particularly the Y'Town Vindicator) does an OK job with some of the bigger Tournaments during the season, and the League, Sectional, District, and State Tourney's at the end of season, but in-season dual-tri results are hard to come by. They will print them if called in, but there's no one "covering" those events.

If it is not Football or Basketball the Dispatch doesn't care - just saying. I mean take a look at ThisWeekSports.com (Owned by the Dispatch) - even they have took out the links to wrestling and you have to find the often inaccurate reporting buried under the respective community.

I wish there were better sources to obtaining information. Most of the Ohio Wrestling Websites were built with the 90's in mind and never have up to date information. Between Chatter and Yappi - there really isn't much else out there. I even considered starting a blog at one point in an effort to promote the sport.

So would the cruiser boy sending in some early rankings to the dispatch last week instead of waiting been good or bad for wrestling?

I sent in the Dublin Coffman results last night right after the tournament and they were on time.

The results were in my copy of the Dispatch this morning along with the Marysville and Liberty results.

Alliance Review does a pretty decent job with wrestling coverage. Not really relevant to the Columbus Area or the discussion though.
