So I guess an OSU poster dont even know who their own coaches are considering you say he was never a DC at Ohio State. Pretty bad that you try to dog me but you are the one who's clueless.

Lol...apparently by title he was "co" DC. I would be willing to bet that 99% of OSU fans didn't know he had that title.

He was the best kept Co-DC secret in the country. Make no mistake about it, Jim Heacock ran the defense. Haynes may have had the title, but he has never been a DC.

Im not going to keep arguing about it. You would know more than I about OSU coaches, and Im sure alot of OSU posters would know more than you about the coaches. Was just pointing out new info that OSU posters probably didnt know about,.

Haynes was third in line in regards to the defense. His title was meaningless.

Exactly. Arkansas is getting a Safeties coach by trade, and hoping he will be a successful DC.

Ohio State NCAA Championships in the past decade - Pistol 2000, 2003, 2004, 2009, Men's Gymnastics 2001, Football 2002, Fencing 2004 & 2008, Men's Volleyball 2011, Syncoronized Swimming 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009 and 25 out of the past 35 years.

Getting an Iowa St guy for QB coach and THEN making him OC also, shows you dont/cant get everyone you want. I think there's others I read that Meyer has tried to get (cant remember their names) that they havent got. If OSU was willing to spend the money (something they never have done for assistants), then you guys wouldnt of hired Herman for both QB and OC coach.
I believe this is called speculation, cats, and how are we to know who OSU actually offered a position but declined. I'm not talking about rumors and message board speculation, but actual offers that were turned down. Please, stick to your Tiger Rant bullshit and leave the Buckeyes chatter to us who not only know, but truly give a shit.

Thank you.

Personally, I think it would be hard for an individual that has been an HC to take a position as a coordinator so soon after being fired, as is Stoops case. There's some openings that have comer up @ other programs that have dismissed their HC, and he's probably waiting to see if he gets any "bites." It was never reported, at least I didn't read it, where a solid offer was made to him, with contract details released as far as the Buckeyes are concerned.

Just speculating, but I don't think it would be a money issue, more of a responsibility/control issue, that would keep him from coming to OSU IF a solid offer was actually made. He could have wanted more power and Meyer drew the line. I think he ends up @ Nebraska with Pellini because of their childhood ties with each other. That fact alone may allow Pellini to give Stoops the control that he would like to have, rather than being a standard DC somewhere else.

I think some of this stems from Zoltan's "trash talking" of $1m budgets and the other B1G teams having to keep up in spending. And some before that said UM would get any guy he wanted.

I don't think most thought of Herman when thinking of the hire that would result from this trash talking. That doesn't mean at all that it's a bad hire.

Despite the Ohio ties, Stoops has zero ins at Ohio State. He would be an OK hire but probably not the best available nor the most likely to be hired. Not sure what the issue with some thinking he would have been who Urban wanted first and formost just because he was contacted.

Trash talking haha, not even close. Money is not going to be an issue with OSU hiring assistants. Let's wait until after the bowl games when the rest of the staff is on board.

More secrets kept about Buckeye football? I'm shocked.

Well I don't think the Morris thing was all rumor. Actually, I know it isn't because our coaches addressed that Morris had been contacted by Ohio State and 5 other schools. The huge salary increase for Morris was addressed literally the day they announced that he had been contacted by OSU. I am sure they didn't just do that for fun haha; clearly they were matching a number or topping a number.

That being said, I think you will be happier with the guy you hired. Morris is a Malzahn Disciple. The offense is just not that similar to what Meyer likes to run and he likes to have the keys to his own offensive system, whereas I think Meyer likes to be pretty hands on. I think young and energetic is the way to go these days, mostly for recruiting as stated above. There is a reason Dabo recruits so well; he is young, energetic, genuine and just a nice guy. Hiring these types to help with recruiting is a great, great move.

Yea, her family is from Frankfort, which is about 10-15 miles west of Chillicothe. I was pretty surprised to see her at the Crosskeys, as it can be a little wild at 2am.

She was probably the biggest celebrity to come to the Dock since Krenzel came a couple years ago...lol!

Withers has some very impressive stuff on his resume, defensively. I'm liking this hire a lot. Look at all the guys from his defense that went to the NFL...that's going to play well in recruiting.
