They are blowing people out of the water this year.
I agree with that. Cuse is winning, but not doing it very impressively. 6 of their past 9 games were single digit wins (or a loss), and one of the double-digit wins was 10 points over Rutgers in a game that was close down to the wire.
They're beating good teams for sure, but you'd like to see them do it by more than 1, 2, 3 points. Especially at home.
Bubble winners tonight:
K-State: now a lock
Virginia: close to a lock. 1 more win should do it (Florida State, UNC, @ Maryland so not a total guarantee)
Seton Hall: Huge win, looking good. Just don't lose out.
Creighton: Survive in OT, just by avoiding the bad loss they're probably a lock now if they weren't before.
Losers:
Illinois: They're done. Can't finish .500 in conference play. Need to win the B1G tournament.
Northwestern: Determined to keep the streak alive. No bad losses, but only 6-9 in conference now. Only 1 good win, and about 3 average wins. Big trouble.
Xavier: Just too many losses. Need to win @ St. Louis.
Miami: May have been out before tonight. No question now. A ton of work to do.
NC State: No meat to the resume. Also in big trouble.
Mississippi State: 4 straight losses. @ Alabama next. A must win. Probably need to win out in the regular season or go 2-1 and make a good run in the SEC tourney.
Colorado State with a huge opportunity. Up 1 on New Mexico right now with 6 minutes left.
Bad overall night for the bubble. The teams that were probably safe got safer, and the teams that desperately needed wins all lost, with the exception of Seton Hall.
