Scores of Central Ohio wrestlers spent their youth learning on the mats at Bishop Ready! Join us in our spacious practice facility: 2 ½ mats, climbing ropes, sand bags and more! A room PACKED with tradition!

Practice sessions will run every Tuesday, 6:30pm Wednesday, Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM beginning November 15[SUP]th[/SUP] and running through January 29.

The team will compete in a variety of events with matches every Sunday. Our team’s primary goal is to learn the basics of wrestling THE RIGHT WAY and have fun.

A step up from Youth team in INTENSITY, the Middle School Club squad will wrestle a full dual and tournament schedule. Join us in our 2 ½ mats, climbing ropes, sand bags and more! A room PACKED with tradition!

The team will compete in a variety tournaments and dual/tri meets. Complete schedule is in progress. Our Middle School Club will focus on Wrestling Basics That Work, sportsmanship and learning to work as a team.

We (Ready) have a nice group of dedicated coaches at both the youth and junior high levels. Our youth club is run by former Ready/Grove City state qualifier Anthony Aiello and the Ready High School staff. Our junior high club will wrestle a full schedule (40+ matches). Our junior high practices will be run by 2x college All-American Carl Amerine and the high school staff. Coach Amerine was the head wrestling coach at Wilmington College and former assistant at Wabash College. Amerine is one of the best technicians around and is good with kids. He'll be an excellent addition to the Ready staff on all levels.

For any parent interested, we also run a beginners club (approximately Kindergarten thru 4th grade) on Tuesdays for anyone relatively new to the sport. It also begins on November 15th and will be run by the youth coaches/high school coaches. The cost is $50. Bishop Ready will be holding sign-ups for youth beginners (K thru 4th), youth competition (K-5th), and middle school (6th-8th) tonight at BRHS. Just park in front of the school and walk in. We (coaches) will have a table set up from 6-8 p.m. registering kids and taking questions.

Ready will be holding sign-ups this Thursday (Oct. 20) at the high school from 6-8 p.m. Our middle school team wrestles between 40-50 matches a year (not counting Jr. High Districts and State). Our youth has two different levels (beginners and competition) to fit your needs. For further questions, contact Bishop Ready Head Coach Chance Van Gundy at 614-264-1690.

Our last night of sign-ups kept us busy. We'll only be able to take newcomers via phone or email. Middle school numbers are up (19) but we're still missing a few upper weight classes. Our youth numbers are even better. If interested in joining our club, contact us via email or phone.
