As someone who writes for a living, I sometimes come across a piece of writing so well done; so moving; that it almost takes my breath away. When I am fortunate enough to do so, I have a need to share.

This is such a piece. It is lengthy, but well worth your time.

Wow, that was pretty moving.

Ramzy is an amazing writer, I've always enjoyed his stuff on Bucknuts the past few years, and now with Eleven Warriors.

I didn't finish it, took the author too long to get to the point IMO. One thing I did get from it, " they had both previously concluded that Glen Mason from Minnesota would have been the best choice to succeed John Cooper ". lol I forogt about Mason.

Great story, but it is quite long--it's too bad because this will deter a lot of people from reading it...however, I'm sure glad I did.

Ramzy is a throwback where journalism is concerned. He writes in a way that disregards the constraints of a short attention span and (self-inflicted) lower IQ that plagues many of today's readers.

The Internet age has all but ruined a lot of things, and good journalism like this is one of those victims. Such pieces and writers who put this much time and effort into crafting a story, are fast becoming a thing of the past.

It's a shame, and a loss for us all.

Excellent piece.

And it was far from being "too long." I wish there was more.

You must have a 4th grade reading level, it didn't take that long to read.

Great piece. This writer is talented.

OK story...not great. Tragic the guy lost his life on 9/11 but actually he came off as kind of flakey had he not died in the Tower collapse.

Yeah, real flake. Graduated from a great school, was on the fast track on Wall Street, wanted to retire early and live life at its fullest. What a flake.
