I followed this story from day 1. I was shocked when the state rested, thinking, 'that's all you got?' I expected not guilty on the 1st degree and manslaughter, but how do you let her go free on agg. child abuse after not caring where the baby was for over a month, and lying all about it? The evidence was all circumstantial because the remains were under water for 4 months, no eye witness, etc. But the circumstantial evidence is clear. Casey never reported anything, even when the police took her statement she totally lied. The defense sucked, but the prosecution had only circumstance to work with. Also, the jury only knows what they were in the courtroom for, and missed alot of what happened during proffers and other hearings. The jury don't know half as much as people who watched on tv. I'm only a little surprised at the whole decision, because as a former C.O. , I know how messed up the American justice system is.

Has any of the experts mentioned teh CSI or Law and Order effect on jurors?

I have heard that a number of times where jurors get so wrapped up in everything coming together just perfectly to convict someone but in reality that doesnt happen ofen.

There's no evidence at all that says SHE did it. There are too many gaps in the story!! We probably all think she did it. BUT, they never proved she did it. Thats the key. Jurors can't make decisions based on feelings.

It was proven he didn't do what he was accused of....

She may have been found not guilty....but nothing was provided to prove to me she didn't murder her daughter

Proven? Why because he shelled out the dough to make it go away? You show me proof on either side. Can't have your cake and eat it too. If he can't be a pedo then she can't be a murderer plain and simple!

That is not what happens in court. Nothing was proven. A not guilty means there was reasonable doubt in the way of proving guilt. That is much different than proving that someone didn't do something.
