A fail on me? Perhaps, but I was already pissed off at Bud Light that night since it was the only beer available at the wedding reception.

Oh, okay. Then we agree there.

Bud Light killed my grandmother.

If Bud Light killed his grandmother I would rep him for his loss.

Bud Light did not kill my grandmother. But he's still a dick.

Glad to hear, and yes. Anyone got anything they're planning on drinking tonight?

I'll be trying a homebrew from my first batch. Tried the first one a few weeks ago and it didn't taste quite right. Hopefully the alcohol flavor has mellowed out a little bit since then.

How long has it been in bottles/what is it?

Also, how did that apfelwine or whatever you were making go?

I switched a double chocolate stout over to secondary last night. Looking good though I might add some finings to it to clear it up a bit more.

It has now been in bottles for 40 days and is an irish red ale.

The apfelwein is still sitting in the carboy, also for 40 days. I might bottle it up this week, not sure yet.

Could you link to that recipe? I might make it.

Hm, 40 days seems long enough.

Just do a google search for "EdWort's apfelwein" and you'll find it.

Had a couple of Elliot Ness last night, been a long time since I had it last. Forgot how much I liked it. Outside of Christmas ale, whats everyone's favorite GLB? Mine used to be the Dortmunder Gold but now I'm not so sure.

Ed Fitz, and I probably like it more than the Christmas Ale.

I just pointed out the Christmas Ale because it seems most were very pleased with it returning this season. Seems to be the most talked about GLB on here.

GLBC: So far it is Monster & Nosferatu. Have a sixer of Ofest and XAle waiting to be sampled.

Honestly, I think I've only had EdFitz and CA. I might have had Dortmunder before, but that's probably it.

European style......room temperature......Disgustingly unacceptable. Rating 0. (rating scale 1-5, with one being just short of squirrel vomit)

just barely cool.....See above rating. ("0")

ice cold...............Keep bringing them (5)
Since this is a "beer snob" thread, I guess I must reply as one....

European Style (whatever that is?); they don't drink beer at room temp. Although I have drank beers at room temp by choice because some taste good at that temperature and I didn't want to wait for it to cool down.

Just barley cool; this is generally the proper serving temp (45-55) for a lot of beers. You get the most flavor profile out of beers.

Ice Cold; beer served ice cold (or pretty much anything for that matter) numbs the palate and taste buds, and you miss a lot of taste.

Must be why Coors Light has the cold gauge on the bottle.

I found Commodore Perry to be a little too strong for my tastes. I will eventually try the rest of their beers though.
