"USED TO BE" a premier job. The scUM job is now alot like the Miami & Nebraska jobs...decent programs with alot of history but not in the same class with the OSU, TX, OK, FL, AL programs anymore. Kinda like a TN or Clemson maybe.

Pelini wouldn't leave Nebraska. At least not right now. He seems to be having them playing at a high level.

Couple sources (including Toledo Blade and 97.1) reporting that Pelini is interested. Also reported from Cleveland that Gruden may get an interview.

It's been said that Pelini may have some riffs at Nebraska.

Webbie, you seem to know a lot about the situation; well a lot more than I do.

When do you think something will be decided?

this would be quite a coup, seeing that Pelini's an Ohio boy and OSU grad...I guarantee he knows a thing or two about "The Game" ;)

Yeah, I can't see it happening for this reason alone.

With the way things are going, I have no idea. Now there is quite a bit of chatter that JH and Michigan were going to be married, but some regents and old guard wanted an apology first, or that some may have expressed their displeasure of JH to him directly. So he went looking elsewhere.

What a mess. What an embarrassment. This needs to be over soon.

I completely agree. If there was someone out there who shook their old finger at JH for his comments, he should be shot. I think by coming to coach would be a middle ground understanding between the 2 and not require an apology.

This will be the response from a non-UM fan "He wasn't a winner then."

What did I miss? Why does JH need to apologize?

Which is perfect for him. He takes over, gets things turned around. He would be a living legend with Bo like status.

This has been a huge embarrassment for scUM. But when your Athletic Dept. is run by a guy whose claim to fame is making sure the cheese is fresh and the pepperoni got delivered on time...this is the kind of mess you deserve.

Two rumors I've read:

Miles is the number 1 target, but he won't speak until after LSU's bowl game (tonight) - however, the fact that he'll speak makes him a strong possibility. Another name surfacing is former Kansas and Minnesota coach Glen Mason.

Any truth to either of these, UM fans?

It's back and forth on Les Miles. It's also been said the Brandon has said in the past he would never hire Miles. Les has a lot of old UM issues that keep many from ever wanting him. Some pretty serious stuff too.

Haven't heard Mason's name at all yet.

When he was an assistant under Moeller, he slept with the head coach's wife. That was the big one.

Brandon has now expanded (and probably delayed) the search by hiring a search firm. He must have really planned on pulling in JH and it fell apart. Otherwise there is no excuse for this to just now be happening.

Wow... I'm only 24, so this happened when I was maybe 5-6 years old lol. That's probably why I didn't know anything about it.
