I think people forget we went 13-1 in 1998 when we won state.....even that team lost a game to Ashland. 1999 we went 8-2, lost games to Dover and CCC....2006 we went 8-2 losing games to Dover and Ashland. Last year they go 7-3 with losses to Copley, Ashland, and Clear Fork. Those were the best teams in the past 15 years and even they didn't go undefeated.

Going undefeated is definately a goal in Orrville football, but losing a game or two won't keep us from our ultimate goals which are:

Beat Wooster
Make the playoffs
Win First round game

If you do those things you are in a pretty good spot to earn the ultimate goal....a state championship.

In 2008 Orrville went 7-3 nand did not get in in Region 13. In 2007 Orrville went 6-4 in Region 13 and did not get in. Same will be the case this year. They have to win out and thats a tough task. They play a good WH team, an Ashland team that can score a lot of points and a Clearfork team that may be better than anyone in the OCC

Is the rumor true that Mason broke his hand? How bad is Brenners ankle? These are the important things. I dont question that the Riders can rise to the challenge but I think we need to be healthy to do it. Those 2 young men are very important to this football team success.

Exactly....not that i want to risk it...but 7-3 will get us in.

I like to think we have just as much, if not more talent than anyone in the region, but if we're injured and continue playing this sloppy brand of football...we wont get a chance to show it.

This week will define this team....either come together as a team or turn in to a roster of individuals and move on to basketball season after the Wooster game.

I think WH style of football plays into our favor....BUT you have to score points to win games.

Mason broke it sometime during the first half. He will be playing with a cast (club) for a few weeks but he will be fine. It'll take a little getting used to that's all.

Exactly Mooney, Steubenville , SVSM, Coshocton all were in 13 and 2008 Girard was 9-1 and didn't make it, but in 2007 Coshocton at 7-3 was in, so with those heavyweights gone this region is open for a 7-3 or even a 6-4 to make it. Even with the loss we will be close to 8th this week so rrnat go away and bother someone else with your lack negative vibes.

Which hand did he break and is he right or left handed?

Will it effect his ball carrying?

Didn't Orrville basketball surprise the hell out of everyone last year? I guess the football team can do the same.

Red Rider Nation you are correct on alot of points. You must know however that most of these people on here are personel friends of devaults. they will not admit his flaws as a coach. This is a very poorly coached team, well coached teams do not make the same mistakes week after week after week. The teams we play do not seem to do these things . Every team we play is always better than the riders in the basics. The play calling is a joke everyone knows what there going to run, people on mansfields side were calling out our plays before the ball was snapped. Our qb. is not very good he simply throws down field and hopes his recievers make a big play. He cannot throw short or medium range passes without them being over or underthrown. I don't know if we have a qb. coach or not , if so he needs to go because he has not taught this kid a thing. He seems to be regressing and he has what 20 starts now. I seen no. 36 coming off the field after his offsides penalty gave mans. a first down which led to there last touchdown, and a coach is patting him on the back wtf. He should have been in his face after all it was the third penalty on him, he also had a holding and a personal foul. Other teams yell at there kids for screwing up not us though, you might hurt there feelings. It's football if you can't yell at the players then tell them to join the band. Well coached teams DO NOT make these same mistakes every game bottom line. This team will go as far as the defense and masons legs carry them , and when they face a team that matches them speed wise they are in trouble.

Also do you think they have a clue what they have in turner. They should be finding ways to get him the ball and it would be nice if our o-line could actually pass protect. It seems like the qb is running for his life as soon as he touches the ball.

The Titans may end the season at 0-10, but I and others on here have too much class to come onto a public forum and post a thread bashing not only the coaching staff, but individual players as well. Calling your coaching staff an embarassment to the program, really?

The only embarassment to the program I have seen lately is you, you run your mouth on the Steubenville thread, and get female dog slapped there. You come on the Orrville thread and post that trash. You are an embarassment to the program. I am sure if the riders were picking fans, they sure as hell wouldn't pick you.

A team wins as a team and loses as a team, pretty primary rule in team sports. You lose, you learn from it and become a better team. Naysayers like yourself aren't part of a team, you just want to hide and critisize. Orrville is ashamed of people like you.
Problem is they never learn from there mistakes if they did they would stop making them over and over.

Not that I am defending anyone, but I was told Turner spent most of 1st half on sidelines with asthma problems.

You guys have no clue these are young kids out here and only time you guys come out is when we loose, I think you guys need to apply to be coaches, I think we have another Rider 80 relation and BF to Seris62. Let the coaches coach and let the kids play simple as that, yes there are things the coaches need to do but I am sure they hear it all. I just can not believe all these redrider posters call themselves fans you guys have some sort of vendetta against the school that is all. Not real Red Riders would BASH like you guys do.

Watched some NFL yesterday and saw some stupid penalties and turnovers all over the place , Steelers, Browns, Bengals, Bears, Patriots ( even Brady threw 4 ints!!!) and guess what those guys all GET PAID BIG MONEY,and they make the same mistakes you so called fans whine about on this thread. Maybe the Patriots should fire Belichek because Brady threw 4 picks or Steelers fire Tomlin because of Rottenbergers lousy game. Get over it and your personal bitter feelings and try to enjoy the game not look only at negatives.
Also I have never spoken to Coach DaVault so we are not personal friends.

And Mo and Mac had "friends" like you that knew more football than they did sitting in the stands when they were coaching. In fact there is one who said it about Mo, then Mac, and now DaVault. He should have applied to be a coach LOL
Coaches coach, but players at any level still have to execute!

Enough common sense....let's get back to this program being one big "good old boys" club.....that's much more fun to talk about.

Good points riders1....I've heard it since I was a little kid.

"Come on, Mo!!"

then it was....

"Come on, Mac!!"

and now its...

"Come on, Davault!!" - (except they don't have to yell it at games, they can do it anonymously on the computer now.)
