Im not gonna say much after that scrimmage today. Minerva had enthusiasm with the kids and coaches as they were intense. Orrville just played real relaxed. I do think the gameplan was to play a conservative approach. Minerva blew us off the line. Their O-Line was as big an O-line as Ive seen in a long time. I would like to see a more aggressive approach against Louisville. Hopefully we put it all together in 13 days. Cant wait. Go Riders!!!

Coaches don't like to blow their gameplans in a scrimmage...other teams come to.them and scout.

Really? I was at a scrimmage tonight and there were more scouts there than fans.

I was responding to ridernation's post about not being aggresive and how we were more "relaxed" in the scrimmage..... I would attribute that to not wanting to show too much too early. lol :D

I'm not sure I agree with the "scrimmage theory". We are less than two weeks from go time. Scrimmages are for fine tuning. I understand you need to figure out who's who but you also need to get good reps in. The theory that we are not showing anything because we're being scouted is crazy. With a new line this is valuable time. I seriously doubt that the playbook is changing much from last year. Everyone we play already knows us. With this schedule we will go to war every week. I dont know about the rest of you Rider Faithful but I dont like the reports I got about how badly our line got controlled. Masons a horse but without Matt and a good line in front of him rushing yards on going to be hard to come by. We need the run to set up the pass. If Kyle gets beat on too much in the pocket it's just a matter of time before he goes down. He's pretty thin. Hopefully things improve this week.

Our prayers go out to Matt. I hate to see any kid get hurt. It's extremely painful when that kids a senior with a bright football future

If it's true about Davis we're losing a helluva player. Love watching him play. 100% every play. I hope it's not true.

As was told to me before, the 4 weeks my son is missing for a broken finger is nothing compared to what has happened to Matt. Here's to a successfull surgery and healthy recovery!

Go Riders,
Thanks for the update. So sorry to hear that. Wishing Matt a successful surgery and a speedy recovery. Feel bad for a kid that put in the work and dedication like Matt did.

Im sick for matt. We will continue to pray for him. What a great young man and extremely dedicated red rider. I can't express my thoughts well enough for matt. Dang it!!

Now that I am in a bad mood this is for some of you bozos out there trying to pick apart a team already. These are kids workIng there butts off for rider nation. Football no
Nut sorry if I offend you but I don't really give a rats butt what you buy into. We know what mason drew stew lemon etc are capable of there is no need to show that in a scrimmage. They were evaluating certain kids very very hard The result of the play was not as important as the film review. For you qb08 get off them already. Nobody on this team thinks anything will be easy so shut it already about that. Every week will be a challenge just like when you played because we are everyone's big game. You see how quickly a kids life can change so support these guys because they are working hard! We have a very young and undersized group of guys up front and we need to stay healthy. Especially now. We will fight and scrap and try to get to the playoffs for we will be a better team at the end of the year .

Very sorry to hear about this young man's injury. Hate to see anyone get hurt, especially a senior and a kid that played with his type of heart, only saw him play a couple times. It is a real shame. Prayers for a speedy recovery.

It just cranks my bait rider power. We have guys playing who never before played a down of varsity football and folks want a finished product. That was a very good sized and athletic line they faced. Two of the probable starting guards were in street clothes and still our qb was never rushed or touched and we got plus five most every run? Give em a break already. It will take some time. Defensively we are not going to be big enough to sit in a base defense and take on bigger stronger guys. But that is what we did Saturday to see what we have to work with. Get involved and watch a few practices and you'll know a bit more of what is going on

Sorry to hear about Matt that sucks, prayers for a speedy recovery. 5knots could not have said it better my self, I try to keep my mouth shut on a lot that is said that gets me ticked off on here. Thank you 5knots for calling out the haters and if I may add Qb08, after I figured out who you are you were lucky to even step on the field stop hatting on every little thing that Orrville does give them a chance to grow as a team!
