I prefer to be involved at home behind the scenes. The homefront is in my mind where the support comes from for any student athlete. Too many parents sit at home telling them Johnny is better than so-n-so, and that coach doesn't know what he's doing. We preach hard work and going 110% at all times, not complaining about not getting the PT they think they should. The oldest plays football, baseball, and bowls (his best sport is bowling), while the youngest plays baseball and bowls. Different approaches by all means, but not old fashioned in my eyes. It's great what's happening for your program, and it works well, so keep running with it.
WH will be better this year, if nothing else by simply being another year older, wiser, and stronger. Last year was literally a sophomore based team. They have the skill sets, but line play will make or break them.
