I agree with playing Hiland every year, the one thing I see about going 2 extra games is that old records could get broken with a kid playing a couple of games extra. I understand they will still have to be a stud to break some of those records, but some could fall. Or a least give the kid a chance to get higher up on the total scoring or rebound list. I guess records are meant to be broken. Maybe we will need to add a * to them!

Hiland has a football team, or are we venturing off topic?

Coach 08 brings up an interesting point about an asterisk, IMO.

Wasn't it only 18 games in a season back around mid 1970's, and no astericks on the record books. It's just listed as career stats and includes tournament games also so teams that make it to state finals will play more games than the teams that lose the 1st tournament game.

State champ teams players have an advantage, especially the 95 and 96 teams that played 6 or 7 games more each season than say a team that lost in sectionals ( no certain years mentioned :) )

Way to early for a 2011-12 basketball thread so you Wooster folk will have to read ALL the posts to know what's going on in Orrville :)

Most Wooster fans are too apathetic to care about what is going on in their own town, let alone their little sister to the east.

Great point. Consider our all-time scoring leader Marcell Denson. He went to the regional finals his freshman year, the district finals his sophomore year and won state his junior & senior years.

He played the equivalent of a 5th season worth of games just in tournament games.

At the most...we're talking 8 more games played over a 4 year career with this new rule change.....hardly worth "asteriking" in the record books. If we're doing that, then might as well asterik Marcell's career points since he had 20+ tournament games over his career. The points you score as a Red Rider as the points you score.....keep it simple.

This thread is getting way too big, maybe we should start a woooster thread and use that for Orrville talk until football, since woooster fans are apathetic:)

And while I'm at it, Tribe Hater, take one of the o's out of "wooooster" and put it on your "to", along with the "to" in the OP! Thank you in advance. ;-)

Speaking of Tygers....My dad who works in Mansfield drove by Arlin Field yesterday and the field is tore up and draining tile is being installed, so it does indeed look like they are getting turf.

We should be playing on it this season:)
Good read. Thanks for posting. Can't believe that district comes up with $700k for turf. If they can do it, so can we. Soon hopefully.
