Your point=void. Gee's argument isn't about how good Boise is (IMO, really fucking good), or how good TCU is (IMO, really good not as good as Boise), but rather about how good their competition is (IMO, really fucking shitty).

Nobody else in that conference could of played at a vanderbilt or a Indiana? GTFO with that shit lol. Just because you choose to go play there doesnt mean they were the only school that offered you.

Playing is not the same as offered.

I'm sure it's possible that the Indiana's and Vanderbilt's could have offered these kids, but only to be buried on their depth chart. Instead they go to a POS school where they can get playing time. Therefore, if you're buried on a depth chart, you're rather irrelevant when talking about results on the field, so once again, your point = void.

According to Gee/the BCS, small schools are not "deserving" to play in the championship game because they haven't "earned" their way in... but at the same time the BCS/Gee refuses to institute a playoff that would force those teams to "earn" their way in. Thus, in the eyes of the BCS/Gee only 6 conferences are deserving on playing in the championship game

It would definitely make the game pretty interesting. I'd say Ohio State would be able to beat TCU, but Boise I think could be a tough matchup. I think we could win either game, but I'd be more nervous about Boise.

I'm not a fan of Gee writing checks that the team is going to have to cash. TCU and Boise are good enough, they do not need any extra motivation. I imagine Tress feels the same way

It isn't ironic at all. What makes you think that if they went to a playoff those schools would get a shot either? The premise is the premise - they haven't earned the same rewards as those in the big six conferences. Just because Boise and TCU happen to be ranked in the top four now, doesn't mean they'd even make an 8-team playoff. In fact, those schools are a BIG reason why there isn't going to be a playoff. The major conferences would be more likely to institute a playoff that maintained their six autobids with two at-larges, but they sure as hell don't want those two spots filled by anything other than big six schools. SO....now that they will never get away with that, a playoff is much further from happening than it has been since the Bowl Alliance began.

I don't believe this. It isn't like the bowl committees conspire to match teams up. Each committee determines how its going to make the most money given its options. Now, OSU may end up matched up against Boise, if Boise doesn't make the title game but it won't be because of some big plan to make sure they face a non-AQ school. OSU will get picked for the money they bring. Boise will get picked because they have to be (although, they were definitely good for ratings in that Va Tech game so they're a little more attractive these days).

I still believe the Sugar Bowl would have a hard time passing up on an SEC school (especially if LSU is 11-1 or Alabama is 10-2 and Auburn is still able to make the title game) and Ohio State.

In reality, what Gee said was right. However, as a Buckeye fan, I wish he would have kept his mouth shut. It only fires up the OSU haters and, let's face it, our schedule hasn't exactly been the toughest this year. I hope Gee learned something from this.

Even with Gee's comments this will still hold true. The story line of OSU vs. the SEC still has far greater appeal than the clash of OSU with Cinderella. That's just taking into consideration the banter that's been levied and not the $ which of course is what drives the bowl selections anyway.

Boise could definitely beat Ohio State in a Bowl game. They have proved this the last few years. The point Gee was making was it sure is easier for them to get to a BCS game. How many Big ten teams would have their record if they had played their schedule over the past 5 years? I would guess quite a few.

I agree, they COULD beat OSU this season, the rigors of the Big 10 competition has left OSU a little (a lot) dinged up, especially in the secondary...the rigors of Boise's schedule?...not so much.

OSU has probably only had to leave their starters in the entire game against Iowa, Penn State, Wisconsin, and Illinois. I'm not buying OSU's "rigorous" schedule.

I don't know if that is what really defines a "rigorous" schedule, but to your own point, all those games have happened since September (which would be the last time Boise played anyone remotely equal to those schools). You sure have a lot of time to heal up with your toughest game is the first game of the year and then you're in cruise control the rest of the season.

Of course I didn't mean that it would solely be because of those comments that it could happen... but if the opportunity would present itself, and to have a little drama and build up surrounding the game, why wouldn't someone take it?
