Just looking at returning finalists and top 4 if need be, maybe even top 6, you have…

103
Marsico (PN)
Murdock (DC)

I seriously doubt either are at 103 next year.

112
Timchenko (OO)
Longwell (HD)
D. McDougle (GL)

All three are STELLAR! I think Timchenko has the least trouble making 112 but even then, it could prove to be too much of a cut. Not to mention, if Edwards (OO) grows into the 112 role, then you maintain the one-two punch of he and Timchenko and the Pioneers of Orange start off nicely.

119
DiSabato (HDav)
Forrider (M)

Both were wiry last year… Could see some growth but I can’t imagine three weight classes of growth. Both are unreal as far as talent. If both end up in the same weight class in Late Feb., the availability for the Schott is cut in half. IMO.

125
Stevens (BC)
D’Urso (SB)

Both are back, and both are good. The one variable that is always in play is the ability for the incoming SouthWest sectional to absent of these teams. Should they opt into the traveling sectional, then they will be interesting to watch.

130
Shivner (SB)
Riley (MV)

Shivner’s back…again! But don’t fret – THIS is his senior year. I thought last year and the year before was. I usually lose track when they are that good that quick.
Riley burst on the scene in a big way lat year. I was very impressed with his state tournament. I look for big things from him in 2011.

135
Gill (HDav)
Luft (TV)
I’ll be surprised if these guys are here next year, but they could bump up a weight class or three. An SQ and an SA should add excellent depth to any field. I’m more interested to see what weight class they settle into and how that effects their respective teams… if at all.

140 through heavy coming SOOOOOOON!!!

I truly think Zack Brown of Westerville Central is going to surprise people. He is tough as nails.

I disagree that he will surprise, but agree that he is tough as nails. I will also take it one step further and like him to place. (Placement guarantees are always premature when given in August. However, August or March, I like his chances.)

Probably never. My life has become a whirlwind since about a day after I said I'd get to it.

Who knows... maybe things will calm down for me on Wednesday And I'll do it then. See ya!!!!!!

Interesting that only two on the list own district titles and the aren't even the front runners.

Let us all recognize the subjective nature of this question. I mean, we really are splitting hairs at this point. It reminds me of when I was a kid and my buddies would ask who was hotter, Elisabeth Shue or Alyssa Milano??? Let's face it, at 12 years old, either one could have eaten crackers where ever they wanted, am I right!?

But to your point, Shank, both District Champs from last year did not place at the Schott. However, BOTH District runners-up did place, and BOTH avenge the loss from the champ in the round of 12. But, don't accuse me of hating or hating on any of these kids. Remember two things... 4x sectional qualifier and Elisabeth Shue vs. Alyssa Milano!!!!!! :)

armdrag: I'm a positve guy. I'm also generous and kind (at least I try to be). There is a time and a place for everything though. Consider this a time to to learn.

Boehm (WM) beat Stevens not 11-3 in the district quarterfinals, but rather 13-1. That is unless my memory AND the folks at Darby got it wrong and thus, the folks at baumspage.com have it wrong as well. However, this same Stevens character - the same one that got beat 13-1, went on to place 3rd IN THE STATE - finishing with 3 pins, mind you, and TWO places higher than the kid that beat him 13-1.

So to say that Stevens isn't a top returner because he was beaten at the District tournament is unfortunate on SO MANY levels, I hesitated to type this post. However, in this day and age of the interweb (thank you, Algore) you should do some research.

Unless, of course, you are a friend of, or indeed Josh Stevens himslef, and are just fishing for compliments.
