Kluber is great but I'm starting to wonder if the tread is wearing on those tires. He's in the top 3 in innings pitched and it just seems like he goes late into games in most of his starts (historically).

If one thing is almost a certainty in baseball, it’s that a walked batter will come around to score. Bieber pitching pretty well though two, but getting knocked around a bit here in the 3rd....Tribe up 4-1.

The last Indians pitcher to double was Jake Westbrook in 2006.

And Neil Ramirez gets to bat... gets a 3-0 count.....and forced the reliever who's name is like "Scrabble" to throw 3 straight strikes.

I was just about to post in the MLB thread how much this guy is impressing me.

And he's only hitting .261 right now.

He's killin' it against us.

He’s sucked for 2 years but showing signs lately. Even at .215 he was a pesky out but you guys giving him player of the week honors and he’s looking elite

Off topic but if the Tribe went after Machado and Bieber was part of the deal, do you do it?

yes, but only if we get Machado for more than just the rest of the season--he must be signed to a multi-year deal

I really don't give a shit if it's only a 3 month rental. I don't think the Tribe's WS 'window" is very large with Allen & Miller likely gone at the end of the year. Too many Tribe fans enamored with prospects. Keep hearing comparisons of Bieber to Jaret Wright. Could've had Pedro Martinez for Wright but the Tribe brass was too in love with their prospect.

Sorry, but I don't think Allen AND Miller are both gone. Also, this has absolutely nothing to do with being 'enamored'--keeping solid prospects that have debuted at the major league level with some success is good baseball, and 'renting' a player in exchange for said solid prospect without a damn good chance of retaining this 'rental' is not. Period.

(Golf clap) Great....so we can watch the old typical Tribe "missed it by THAT much" bullshit in October per usual.

(face palm) Great...yet another cynical Tribe 'fan' who conveniently forgets that a three month rental player won't help if our pitching staff is depleted. Do I want Machado? Hell yes, and if you paid attention to my posts, you'd know this to be true--but not only for three months. I'm just taking your scenario a step further is all.

Yeah, I get it but historically (stupid) Tribe fans have been over the top in their coveting of their precious "prospects" and every year what do we (the fans) get to show for it? "Missed it by THAT much..."

Machado is going to get $300M this offseason. In what fucking planet is he signing a multi year deal in Cleveland? Lol. You might as well say you don’t want him if the stipulation is resigning him.

I’d give up Bieber in a split second for Machado. The Tribes window is closing in the sense they may not be adding studs every year and are getting older in places etc. But, the division is still trash and Twins are the next rebuild. They have at least 2 more years of playoffs (3 if you count this year) I’d think, just based on dominating the division.

Pitching is fine. Kluber and Carrasco getting older, but the future has always been Bauer, McKenzie and Clevinger. Bieber is a nice surprise, but the Tribe is still loaded as a staff moving forward.

Completely glossed over that part. Machado would definitely be a 3+ month deal and then move on. I know they've grabbed guys like Miller at the deadline but, at some point, they need to go all in instead of kicking the can down the road. It's great to have competitive baseball year in and year out but at some point you'd like to try to win the damn thing.

Prospects are called prospects for a reason. I think we saw that in the Ubaldo Jimenez trade. Pomeranz panned out to be about a .500 pitcher and Alex White never did pan out.
