Cal Ripken came up in 1981 and started his record streak early in April of 1982....not missing a game for 17 seasons. Right before his streak Dale Murphy started a 740 game streak from 1981-86 and for a decade averaged 158.5 games a year......

posted by Ironman92Maybe, maybe not...Belle retired in 2000 or stopped playing.....but from 1989-2000 he was 4th and the guys in front of him kept knocking in over 100
During that time Bonds and Palmeiro were ahead of Belle and they each had 428 RBI from 2001-04.....and he was 40 behind Griffey and Griffey had 276...so he may have caught him but Belle a big OPS drop his last year (but a big RBI guy still)
Thanks for the info! I actually would’ve bet Belle was leader in that timeframe. Led league like 4x in RBI.

Eddie Murray came up in 1977. Ripken’s streak from April 1982-1998 ....Murray still played the 2nd most games through 1997.
Starting in 1977 and using a 12 consecutive season range the games played leader was Eddie Murray 77-81, Ripken from 82-88 and Palmeiro from 89-94.....those years being the starting years. All long time Oriole players
