I’ve made my stance pretty clear. When it comes to sports, and in particular football, I just don’t care about morality anymore.

Why do I have to be the one (city/team) who won’t take on bad dudes to help the team. Half the league is full of shitheads who I hope to never have to interact with.

Same with college recruiting (before NIL). I stopped caring about my team being clean…because why care about paying recruits when everyone does and nobody gives a fuck? I want to win. I don’t really care if our QB is a rapist. If the NFL wants to kick out the shitheads, I’m all for it. Until then, Watson is gonna help someone, might as well be my team who has sucked for too long.

Agree….I will always favor the Tony Gwynn’s of the sporting world, but most of these guys have some bad characteristics that would make them shitty dad’s, husband’s, role models and even friends. I loved Rickey Henderson even though he basically exemplifies everything I disapprove of lol. Magic Johnson…yeah lol. Iverson, Vick, Bonds, Jordan, Tiger, Daly, Roberto Alomar….the list is endless. Walter Payton maybe the only guy that doesn’t fit, but if I dug enough he maybe wouldn’t either.

How awkward would this be, and I'm very doubtful it would happen, if Watson were suspended the whole season, Browns couldn't dump Mayfield and ended up rolling him out there as a starter, as a lame duck, for one season until Watson returned?

Not seeming like there's much of a market for Baker unless they eat a bunch of his salary and send back draft picks or a pick.

Browns have all the leverage now. getting something for him helps both parties, but releasing him helps nobody. Browns can force him to play or sit - but that wont help him as a FA next year. Niners just did this with Jimmy G, and he sucked it up and led them to a deep run. It would be in Bakers best interest to do the same, but I doubt he would.

Steelers would jump at the chance to sign Mayfield if the Browns cut him...

No team is paying Baker 18 Browns will have to cut hit and eat the hit

They aren't cutting him. Berry will wait it out until some team doesn't get what they want in the draft or some team has a QB injury in training camp or early in the season. Seahawks & Eagles are still showing interest. They'll get something but it won't likely be much and they may have to pay part of that 18m.

Not that I want it or think there's a snowballs chance in Hell of it happening, but JJIII claiming on Twitter last night that OBJ will be coming back to the Browns. Wouldn't it be the ultimate troll job if OBJ came back and requested the number 6?

No nothing about him. Tretter's best asset was leadership and durability.

He will probably compete with Nick Harris for the center position. Only 26 and started 40 games for the Seahawks. Can never have too much oline depth.

Plus he's a swing guy. Can play any of the three interior OL positions. Fits what they look for in versatility.

Funny part is the first pic I saw of him he looked like fat Andy Dalton.

Love the versatility and depth. Biggest downfall of the line has been lack of depth last year(s)

Having Chris Hubbard return will also help with Conklin likely being sidelined for awhile. Hubbard's not a world beater but he can handle the load for a few spot starts.

Goodell gave the impression today that Watson won't be on the commissioner's exempt list. If the civil cases aren't resolved, and Watson's fighting them one by one, he may not start the season with a suspension and be on the field game 1.
