Well this is interesting: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/01/08/eliot-wolf-will-interview-with-browns-on-tuesday/

He'll end up here with Dorsey. Let's just hope these guys can decipher which QB to pull the trigger on at #1 because god knows I don't see it in any of them. Not that any of us here are QB gurus.

Afternoon show (92.3) had somebody from KC on to discuss Dorsey. The guy said he was good at talent evaluation but his weak spot was managing the salary cap. I'm assuming some of these pickups are surrounding himself with guys who are strong where he's weak.

Pettine going to be the DC in Green Bay. Remember when he won 10 games in 2 years and we all hated him? Those were the days

And we had good reason to hate him but little did we know how bad things would get.

Wins 10 games in 2 years.

We gotta get rid of him.

Wins 1 game in 2 years.

I think he’s still got the magic.

Pettine was trash.  I am not making him look better, because he happens to not be worse smelling trash than Hue.  What pisses me off the most is NOW Haslam wanted to bang the "continuity" drum.  Where the fuck was that when you fired three coaches in four years?  That imo, led to him sticking with Hue despite being the worst of the bunch.  Also a secondary reason is the fact that so many vacancies opened up after this season, and Haslam probably knows he won't be getting the best coach.  He should have fucking hired Zimmer.  He had TWO chances, and decided not to hire him, because he was butt hurt that Zimmer gave him a candid response regarding the status of the entire franchise.

I still find it incredible how many people defend Hue.  Whether it is coming from the fans or the "experts," it is really confusing.  There have been plenty of good guys who have been fired with a better resume.

If this team would've had a very good QB, guys like Schurmur, Chud & Pettine would likely all still be here. For as shitty as Pettine may seem, he's the third best coach (for wins in a season= 7) behind Crennel (10) & Butch Davis (9). Outside of Belichick, I seriously doubt there's a coach in this league who would've had the Browns at .500 or above. Yes, there are better coaches who would've gotten them more wins but I'm firmly convinced that a HC is nothing without that QB.

I'm still interested in hearing more from all of these guys in KC who are coming out of the woodwork believing that Dorsey could put the Browns in cap "hell?" 92.3 is going to have the third guy on in the last 24 hours to discuss this. Sounds like he may not have handled things well with the Houston & Eric Berry contracts that caused the Chiefs to overspend when they could've gotten the player on the cheap(er) had they done the contract a year earlier.

No question Pettine was trash.. It's just funny we're keeping Hue when hes done exponentially worse.

Considering the Browns have a shit ton of cap space and they are nowhere near competitive, I am not concerned about cap hell.  That's an issue for competitive teams to worry about.  If that becomes an issue, it most likely means we are finally competitive.

Browns signed Elliot Wolf and twitter seems to like the move.

In terms of Browns HC ranking I'll go with this (starting in 1999):

1. Butch Davis

2. RAC

3. Chris Palmer

4. Hue Jackson

5. Chud

6. Pettine

7. Mangini

8. Terry Robiskie

9. Patty Schurmur

How on earth can you have 1-31 at 4th best? This team is not talented, but they aren’t that far behind some other teams that squeaked out 4-6 wins.

Hue Jackson at 4???  Agree with Butch. Hue is a moron, he's in the convo of worst with Robiskie and Schurmur, imo.

Players least play hard under Hue. 0-6 wins, DGAF. Undr Hue our players are least put in position, our def has looked the best it has ever looked. Quite a few reasons I'd put him there. More of a damnation on the rest of the HC than praise of Hue fucking Jackson.

Agree with this. One thing that can be said about this group, they may seem clueless, but at least they keep fighting for him. And the funny part is that the players are like dogs that get beaten by their owner. They take a whipping (verbal in Hue's case, downplaying the talent) yet seem loyal to him.

I've resigned myself to the fact that he'll be here to at least start the 2018 season. He had better get off to a pretty fast start or I think the leash may be short. Assuming Dorsey & Company do their jobs, he'll have no more "not my fault" excuses. Time to coach, Hue.

As a side note, I do think every coach on your list below Hue (except Robiskie) would have more than 1 win with this current squad.

Our defense still looks like dog shit. I could complete a 3rd and 2 against these morons. When the db lines up 10 yards off the receiver it isn't hard. And don't even need to mention the safety lining up in a different zip code.  Hue speaks the same as the shittiest of the shitty. IDGAF how "hard" the players play, they won 1 game in 2 years. Maybe if Hue was more likeable I'd even see your argument, but he's a complete fuck. No other coach could have done this... LOL!

My rankings depressing rankings:

1.Botch Davis:  Made the playoffs and should have made it the previous year.  Pretty easy to be #1 with the bar set low.

2. Crennel: Same as davis, the bar is set low, but he has the last winning season.  There are many memories that could have gotten the Browns 11 wins and a playoff appearance, but the one that pisses me off the most is somehow the refs decided the push out rule didn't apply to the Browns against the cardinals.  By rule (at the time), that was a clear TD.  I always hated the push out catch rule, because the Browns got the short end of the stick, and then the one time it should have benefitted them the officials somehow decided the rule didnt exist.

3. Erica Womangini: Probably a controversial ranking, but it's really a pile of shit and he at least demonstrated success before the Browns.   If he didn't have his tentacles on personnel decisions (trading down with the jets for garbage), I think he could have done better.*

4. Pettine: Same shit as mangini.  If he doesnt want Gilbert and Haslam isn't a fucking idiot pushing for Manziel, I think he does better.  Also came in when Gordon started his 2 year hiatus from the NFL.*

5. Palmer: His years are a blur, but at least he beat the Steelers.

6. Chud: Such a dumbass hire.  He wasn't close to being qualified for a NFL HC gig.  OMG he is from Cleveland guise!!

7. Little Patty Boy:  I fucking hate him the most, but he isn't the worst coach of the group.

8. Hue:  He went 0-16 and currently only has 1 win.  He is automatically last place on the list and he should be disqualified from any HC job in the NFL for the rest of his life.

Robiskie is not eligible for my rankings.

*= when I say better, that still doesn't mean I don't think they were trash.

I still maintain they have an above average front seven. What kills them is the secondary and they need more pass rush. Wonder why Peppers is positioned in the center field bleachers? Because Gregg Williams doesn't trust the scrub ass DB's he has to put out there. Main reason they are giving the WR's a 10 yard cushion. When they get better DB's in here, a) I'd bet you'll see more press coverage and b) I bet you'll see Peppers close to the LOS, playing in the box, where he thrives and belongs.
