I know it's "pie in the sky" thinking but if the Browns were to make the playoffs this year, their easiest, and most realistic path, would be by winning the division. They'd have to win out, Baltimore would have to lose two (very possible with TB, Chargers & Browns left) and Pittsburgh would have to lose out (possible but unlikely with NE, New Orleans & Cincy left). If the Browns win out, it's likely they tie Pittsburgh for the division championship with Pittsburgh winning the tie breaker.

BR heard one comment from Arians on air and doesn’t want him as HC.

I actually think Arians as HC, and keeping kitchens on as OC is a dream scenario. Everyone creams their pants over getting a “young innovative guy” but we have that in kitchens calling plays. There’s no guarantee if you bring on a young guy that Kitchens stays, and then we have a big question mark.

Keep our young great signal caller as OC, bring on Arians to manage the game, and groom kitchens to take over as HC when he’s done.

Seems quite reasonable.

I don't have a problem with Arians if it's a VERY short stint, assuming they'd want to groom Kitchens. And it wasn't "one comment." Arians has been speaking out of both sides of his mouth for a while now with his "the Cleveland Browns HC job is the only one I'd want" while also saying "but on the other hand, I really don't miss the game, enjoy my family time, etc, etc." Just sounds like someone who isn't "all in" and committed, like Holmgren was.

Derp, derp....he's been saying this shit for a while now. Plus the dude has heart issues. This team has had such a shitty track record with HC's that they can't afford to miss on this one with a legit franchise QB.

This team easily could’ve been 7-5-1....SMH

He's made the comment, as recently as a week ago, that his heart hasn't been into returning to the NFL.

Baker calling out the fans a little and I don’t blame him. There were a LOT of empty seats. Come on Cleveland, we finally have a QB, and a decent team...that stadium should be jam packed.

Were you there?

Nope. Will be making my annual trip to Cleveland for the bengals game, though. I’m 6 hours away, so I have a bit of an excuse. What’s yours?

Oh...internet tough guy....I just asked a question

I'm not the one calling out the fans for not going....that's you

Unless you are a season ticket holder, you don't have any room to talk about attendance at the games....

Just keep winning, Mayfield, and the fans will come. With all the shitty teams and bullshit surrounding the organization over the last twenty years, the attendance has been above and beyond what this team has deserved.

...and fwiw, my son and I attend at least one game a year, and the fans have been terrific--year in and year out

9. Prediction of the Week: The Browns will have four prime-time games next year. They’re fun, they’re dangerous to play, they’ve got an exciting quarterback, and they should have an exciting young coach. Cleveland finishes thusly: at Denver, Cincinnati, at Baltimore. Imagine a 7-8-1 record. Winning two of their last three would do it.

Baker was the one who said it, dumbass. I just agreed with him that it was shitty to see images of the stadium with so many empty seats.

Your comment about “if you’re not a season ticket holder you can’t criticize fans for not going” is a load of garbage. Just so you know

Cleveland fans are the best. I’m not saying they aren’t.

If I lived in Cleveland I’d be at every game (this year). Baker is that exciting and the team is very competitive. There shouldn’t be empty sections of the stadium in a win vs a playoff contending team. Just my opinion and also Baker’s.

Ok, enough with the penis measuring contest on # of games attended. NOGAF.

Baker is the fucking truth, Browns fans are great but need to show it.

  • As for Arians, not a huge fan. Maybe if he comes in and GW stays as DC, Kitchens stays as OC I could warm to the idea. Either way, we have Baker Mayfield and are only a couple pieces away from truly contending for a title. Yes, I'm being serious.
  • The refs were fucking horrendous yesterday.
  • Higgins and Landry not holding on the fucking ball is pitiful. This game could have been a blow out if not for them pissing the ball away. They should have to go all week with a ball taped to both hands. Idiots.
  • Carrie is being targeted by the Refs unfairly. However, I hope he keeps it up, reminds me of the seahawks, the refs will eventually get sick of throwing the flag and he needs that edge.

Yeah, Higgins is the reason this game had a nervy ending. He’s been good this year so I’ll chalk it up to a bad game, but damn he better hold onto the damn ball and catch TD passes going forward.

And yes, I’m knly good with the Arians thing if he keeps kitchens as OC. I hope Williams stays on as DC, but I could see him leaving for a HC spot if we don’t offer it to him.

The problem with offering he HC spot to a new, young guy, is that he won’t bring on kitchens. He’ll want his own team. And I don’t like that, and I imagine baker won’t like that either. He loves kitchens.
