Patriots resemble mediocrity and Belichick is dressed like he’s supposed to

So if Seattle wins tonight the playoffs would be

6-6 Dallas hosting 10-2 San Fran

That seems fair.

Good for the Texans winning. Else that video of the linebackers walking into the stadium in SWAT gear would bring the lulz for a while. Eh if still kinda does.

Yeah, I get the whole winning the division should mean something but I think they need to go best record is hosting.  I would still keep winning a division gets you into the playoffs no matter, but hosting.....nah.

Seattle 10-2 but only +36 total in points scored....compared to 49ers +166

Packers only +32

4-8 Chargers have scored more than they’ve allowed lol at +3

Dak top 4 QB! Cowboys defense top 10!

They burn me every week in picks contest. @Rams next and so I guess it’s their turn, for no reason to play good and win

I'm honestly surprised Garrett hasn't been fired yet.

The only thing the Cowboys did right was not overreact to the first 4 games and pay Dak. Lots of idiots wanted them to, but he is middle of the road. Great leader, average QB. Worth paying, but not insane amount.

If Jerry wasn't a senile drunk, he would be fired about 100 times by now. Now whether that is simply because he's a senile drunk or if it's because being a senile drunk allowed Garrett to get some really incriminating evidence to use as leverage, I'm not sure. But the "senile drunk" part is definitely a factor.

That whole division needs relegated to the XFL. Four teams and none of them would do better than third in any other division. The fact that one team from it will get to host a first-round playoff game really makes the "division champ > wild card" argument look ludicrous.

Agreed. Winner of that division is going to be 8-8 (at best, possibly 7-9) and hosting a (probably) 12-4 team. Dumb.

If WC team is 2+ games ahead of the div champ they are facing....WC gets home game. Tie breaking procedures if needed

This sounds reasonable.

I agree, although I'd be willing to go even farther and say that getting a pass into the playoffs via winning your division should be the ONLY reward you need for doing so and the playoffs should be seeded on actual performance. But the "2+" works, too, as the only time anyone really notices a weak-ass champion hosting a wild card team is when the champ is an 8-8 team that got in because they were the least shitty team in their shitty division and the wild card team has 11+ wins, but was in a division with team that had a great season.

I think a 10-6 division winner hosting a 11-5 wild card is okay. But I wouldn’t be upset if the wild card got to host in that situation.

2x a team below .500 has won since 2010....both teams hosted and won...a lot due to being at home.

Did the 7-9 Seahawks beat someone at home? I can't remember the other 7-9 team.

But yeah, a 7-9 team should not be getting an advantage over anyone. What about a rule that a 8-8 team or worse cannot host? So, win your division at 9-7 and you get a home game regardless of the WC teams. Win your division at 8-8 or worse and you're on the road.

7-9 Seahawks beat the defending champ Saints

The 7-8-1 Panthers beat....not sure I remember 🤷🏻‍♂️
